Semester Long Project Proposal

Our project is about traveling. We wanted to answer the question of what purposes

people travel, the modes in which the travel by, the worlds most popular places and what

makes them so popular compared to the unpopular locations. We will also analyze foreign and

domestic travel and how customs play a factor in each of those. We will include anecdotes of

our own travels and about the study abroad program at UNC Charlotte. We will approach this

project by researching our topics that we will be discussing and planning a PowerPoint

presentation to give the class insight on the joys of traveling.

We plan on creating our PowerPoint by creating two-four slides per subtopic. Each

subtopic will include facts, statistics, pictures, and other supplementary information. We will

use the information we find in the sources to explain and clarify the topics and subtopics all

about traveling. The technologies we will implement will be our laptops with the internet, as

well Microsoft PowerPoint. We will attempt to find an educational video describing the

opportunities that traveling offers. The research will allow us to integrate information about

how people travel as well as the reasons for traveling.

Our plan is appropriate and effective because of the common ground all the group

members have on the topic of traveling. This will allow us to be effective because of the passion

we all share for traveling abroad and domestic. This project will allow the audience to become

familiarized with modes of traveling, popular destinations as well as the cultures of the world.

The Study Abroad topic could help the audience spark new ideas about traveling and maybe

help them seek out the Study Abroad program.

Each member of the group will be responsible for researching each of the selected

subtopics. This will allow us to have an overwhelming knowledge about each of the topics and

we will be able to present the information with confidence. With each one of us having our own

interpretations of the research will also allow us to be as confident and ready as possible for

this presentation. Each member will also be responsible for designing a few slides pertaining to

their individual travels. For Jared it will be about Hawaii, for Cailee about her travels in Costa

Rica, and for Chapman about his adventures in the concrete jungle of New York City. During the

presentation, each member will be assigned certain slides to talk about to further engage the

audience. But each member can also have their input on any of the slides, not particularly

pertaining to their own.

Week Eight: Practice

This proposal was produced by all of the members of the group. Each person put forth their

own ideas and concepts. Traveling is an exciting experience and all students should be able

to have their own stories of traveling.
