The music magazine that I want to create will be the genre of ‘Indie’ as this is the genre of music that currently listen so therefore I would be able to create a reasonable product that I believe would appeal to the target audience as I will personally be able to relate to it. I believe creating an Indie magazine would be particularly ‘easy’ as I too have all the ideas to create an overall good product as I am a reader of indie magazines. The genre Indie is also a very successful music genre with big well known artists e.g. Ed Sheeran and the genre is currently getting more and more popular.The magazine that I want to create would be sold monthly, as I created a survey on surveymonkey.com and the majority of my target audience said that they buy magazines monthly, so therefore I thought that this would appeal to my audience, and also as the price of my magazine is £2.50 I believe that this would be too much for a weekly magazine. I also chose for my magazine to be monthly because it makes it seem more sophisticated and professional than a weekly magazine. As my magazine will be monthly I will create the articles to be more detailed and go into more depth on articles and reviews etc. so that I will engage my target audience.My target audience will be both male and female mainstreamers and individualists, between the ages of 16-24 with the social grade of ABC1. I believe this is a good target audience for my magazine as I would be able to relate so that I can create the best overall product that I can for this target audience, I will make my magazine quite social media based as at this age they spend a large majority of their time on social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram. My target audience will also read my magazine for information on upcoming events such as festivals and concerts and to hear about the latest news on breakthrough artists and established artists etc. and to also form a personal identity with the magazine.I will create a social media account for my magazine on a wide range of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as these are some of the most successful and well known social medias at this current time so therefore if I create an account then I will be able to get closer to my readers and understand them more and also create a wider fan base.For the first launch of my magazine I will do freebies and competitions and giveaways, as these always attract an audience so therefore I know that I would have started a small fan base, and this would also give a good impression on my magazine and would widen my audience. To ensure I keep my readers every month I will include a freebie within the magazine such as free earphones or a free download of iTunes etc.The content within my magazine will be quite ‘chilled’ but also exciting and entertaining. I believe that I will achieve this through the layout of my magazine and the content inside. The main article within my magazine will be formal and a direct interview but I won’t be a writing the questions in the article so this way the reader can feel as if the artist is talking to her directly so therefore they feel more comfortable reading the magazine.The name of my magazine will be a symbolic term to music as I want to make it clear to the reader the genre of my magazine, the name have chosen for my magazine is ‘M’ which stands for ‘Music’ but I will have a clear slogan understand the masthead which will give further information as to the title and genre of my magazine. I have decided on a colour scheme of red, black and white, as this is the colour scheme for the well-known and successful music magazine ‘Q’ so therefore it will be guaranteed that this will appeal to my audience as this magazine is so successful.I have chosen to incorporate a unique selling point to further promote my magazine, this is to create a second front cover which is only accessible to those who subscribe to my magazine, this way it will

be a collector’s item but will intrigue the readers as to know what’s different about it to the original one. Subscribing to the magazine also means that you will get a discount on the magazine which will also appeal to more people again widening my audience.
