Chelsea Grin – Crewcabanger I have chosen this song because I’ve listened to it multiple times throughout my life really, because when I listen to it I get ideas that I can do for camera angles and different effects I can use with the camera on different parts to make the video interesting, so I believed it would be a good idea to use this song, although the song has no lyrics over it and it’s just instrumental, it can be just as warming as a regular music video to watch. Also because my friend and I both know how to play the song on guitar.

Chelsea Grin – Crewcabanger

I have chosen this song because I’ve listened to it multiple times throughout my life really, because when I listen to it I get ideas that I can do for camera angles and different effects I can use with the camera on different parts to make the video interesting, so I believed it would be a good idea to use this song, although the song has no lyrics over it and it’s just instrumental, it can be just as warming as a regular music video to watch. Also because my friend and I both know how to play the song on guitar.

Performance

Because the song I’ve chosen doesn’t have lyrics and I want to base the song around the instruments being playing which would make it a performance, but I don’t want it to just be a basic playthrough video, I want there to be an element involved that displays a purpose to the whole “being in a band” concept. This concept is that point of it’s not about money, but it’s about writing music with your friends and generally having a good time with each other.

Costumes

I will make the stereotypical costumes for the music scene, as this is a heavy genre of metal I want the people in the video wearing that typical clothing that people who listen to the genre wear. So basically just band merch, but also skinny jeans, baggy shorts, baggy shirts and beanie hats alike. I want the video to look authentic and the costumes are a big part, some of the people in the video won’t naturally listen to the genre of music, so I’d need to sort out clothing for them to wear in order to be in the video. I have my costume pre-planned out for the video.

XL pullover hoodie

Beanie hat

Black skinny jeans

Black hightop shoes

This also fits in with the location. It will be held in my house, as small bands writing new material won’t have money to be in expensive venues, playing massive shows, and as I said I want it to be authentic as if it’s a real band doing their best to make it big from their local scene.

The genre of my music video is

performative and he’s some pictures of

performative music videos

within the genre I’m looking at

My audience ranges from people 14 – 30, this because those are the ages where going to shows, seeing bands live and such are most common. Whereas more specifically I would say 16 – 23 is the age range where people would see more local bands rather than focusing on bands that tour the world and are famous as less people have heard or support the local scene, the target audience would obviously be people that listen to the genre of music being played and who live in urban areas, where it’s easy to travel around to places where shows are held.

I want to try and use a bit of slow motion in my editing to play around with it, to help the beat of the song along while I’m editing it.
