I created this collage on paint where I found these images on Google. I will be advertising all of these products in my advert.

Barry M history • Our History - True Brits• Barry M Cosmetics was created in London, Great Britain in 1982 by

Barry Mero. In the early 80's Barry had a number of retail outlets around London selling beauty and cosmetic products. The fashion was for dramatic, outrageous make-up. However he found that no one was producing the exciting and vivid colours that his customers required. So in June 1982 he decided to put together the Barry M Cosmetic range.

• The Barry M name soon became a cult name in the field of colour cosmetics and in those days if you were a new Romantic, Punk or Gothic the chances are you would have been using Barry M to make your statement!

Target audience

• I’ve decided to target my audience at 15-25.This does not mean older / younger people cannot wear this product it just

means I will be focusing on the specific key areas young adults look at when buying beauty products.

I’ve gone for this particular age group as myself and my peers discussed this matter and thought it was appropriate.

• Another reason why I chose this target audience was because I wanted to be able to relate to this project. Basing it around the same age group as I am has made it a lot easier for myself to come to terms with.

Other places it will be advertised. On buses because busses usually travel in busy places e.g London many tourists will be about and many people will see the poster!!

Bus stops sign again because people who are waiting around for a long time will be bored, gives them something to look at and be fascinated by.

On tubes and tube stations; people can’t escape once the train is moving. Once again gives them something different to look at, especially if promotion deals are on etc.

Women magazines are popular for flicking through and browsing. I know that from personal experiences I have been heavily influenced more by magazines then busses and train station adverts.

Cost of my final product.• My product itself already has set prices for each item so I will not need to

place a price tag for them. • In my advert however I may have to state how much some of the items

are, I will look online for the price if not I will make the price up. I want my product i’m advertising to be a reasonable price and I think Barry M is.

• Advert wise I will not be spending any of my own money on technical equipment such as camera, tripod etc. The college provides us with the equipment which we later hand back.

• I will be buying some of the Barry M products to use in my film around the cost of £5.00 per item. And also powder paint to shoot in one scene of my film. In total comes to the cost £25.00

Why is my advert appropriate for my product?

• My advert is more than appropriate for my product as the advert is portraying regular teenage life. It’s representing average ordinary girls who are having fun dressing up, going out, paint fights etc.

• The music is fun a bubbly not misleading and neither is the message of the product.

• There are no hidden messages and the whole advert is appropriate to be shown at anytime of the day on any channel.

• It’s appropriate as it IS selling the product through persuasive text language and emotion.

• It will be professional and informative (credits, titles, voice over’s).
