PRONUNCIATION The Challenge Sometimes words are spelt one way, but their pronunciation is completely different. If you are learning English as a second language then this topic appears confusing and far from logical but I can assure you that this feature is not rife throughout the language. The definition of an unspoken syllables are words where the spelling is different to the pronunciation. The following words are some examples but there are more. Practice is very important here and my advice to you would be to record your voice and get used to the way that you sound, this will help you to set a learning goal which can be achieved.
