”No act of kindness, however small is ever wasted.” Aesop’s Fables
What a cute beginning to our first General Meeting…back to school themed tables created by Cynthia
Eastman and her Committee. How fun and appropriate. As always it was delightful to see all our familiar
and new friends at our first meeting of the year. We all love having new members join us. A very warm
welcome to you.
WOW! What a successful plant sale. We must have set a new fundraising record for our annual plant sale
at the pier. Thank you again goes to Marilyn, Twyla, Nancey and all the members who participated by
bringing plants, working the booth, and Libby for her top-notch article in the Sun. What great teamwork.
AND, here comes our second fundraiser on November 6th at Deux Amies. Good luck selling lots of door
and raffle tickets. If you get the chance, drop by Deux Amies and check it out. I’m sure you’ll love the
store, the merchandise and the owners. We’re off to a very fun and successful year.
It’s very special for Seal Beach to now have it’s own Performing Arts Association. It has “created a more
vibrant way of life” for our town. Thank you Esther Kenyon for founding this organization and for in-
forming us about this wonderful richness added to our city.
In ending, I wish to thank all our members for all your acts of kindness for our club and community.
You are amazing…Remember that. Becky

human emotion of a fascinating era”. _ Jean M. Auel, New
