The Aetna Basketball 4 Life Clinic is a one-day Basketball and Healthy Living Choices clinic open to up to 200 boys and girls ages 10 to 18.

The goal of the clinic is to educate the participants about proper diet and exercise, and how to make healthy living choices.

Four NBA Legends will coach the kids and coordinate the clinic under the direction of NBA Championship Legend Lucius Allen, formerly of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Children will learn new basketball skills and techniques, along with lessons about proper diet and exercise, healthy eating habits, proper nutrition, and more.

Guest speakers representing the NBRPA will provide the children with fun and educational information throughout the day and send them home with on-going (basketball and healthy living) activities that they can practice after the one day clinic.

A team of nutritional experts will also work with the participants, and provide take-home materials, refrigerator magnets and other materials for them to give to their parents or guardians.

Nutritional experts will perform weight and body mass index readings for each child during the event, provide personal analysis on those findings, and make individual recommendations for each child and their parents or guardians to ensure that The Basketball 4 Life Clinic enhanced their nutritional efforts after the clinic.

The Team of Nutritionists will also provide a comprehensive report on the actual program’s elements to Aetna for the company’s future efforts to tackle childhood obesity. The post analysis will also include a face to face presentation of those findings.
