What is Central Little Rock Promise Neighborhood
The Central Little Rock Promise neighborhood aims to organize programs and services in targeted areas south of I-630 around the academic needs of children and their families to ensure happy, healthy and productive childhoods and greater academic success from pre-school through college and career training. This effort will aim to work with all children in the community and will include schools, after-school programs, community-based services to families, and improved neighborhood conditions such as health and safety.
About Us/ What we do
The CLRPN is a coalition of partners led by UALR, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Central Arkansas Library System, City of Little Rock, Little Rock School District, and New Futures for youth.
The Central Little Rock Promise Neighborhood is a commitment, a planning process, and a partnership.
Based on the Harlem Children’s ZoneThe HCZ model aims to break the cycle of poverty by focusing primarily and intensely on the social and educational development of children.
“An organization that has set out to prove that poor, black children can and do succeed.” Oprah Winfrey
Learning from Harlem Children’s Zone
By addressing the needs of the entire community, HCZ isn't simply helping children beat the odds, it's helping to change the odds.
The focus is from cradle to college to community: preparing our kids for bright futures.
