WEST COAST DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY REVIEW AND UPDATE OF THE COASTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME ***PROJECT UPDATE*** First Round of Stakeholder Engagement Sessions have been completed A series of stakeholder workshops were held from the 28 th January 2019 – 1 st February 2019. We did not manage to capture all stakeholders in this first round and have since updated our stakeholder database. The project is still in the early stages and there are many more opportunities to engage with the process. Thank you to everyone who has submitted comments so far! Comments are being received from various government organisations, rate payers associations and members of the public. It is encouraging to see the commitment that the people of the West Coast have to ensuring that the coastline is effectively managed. Please keep the inputs coming! The Draft West Coast Coastal Management Programme and the Coastal Management Programme for each of the Local Municipalities will be ready for public review and comment by mid-April 2019. An email notification will be circulated once the draft reports are ready for review.
