Project Salt-Block
A Community with Critical Needs A Church with a Heart to Help
When Jubilee purchased the above building it was an abandoned grocery store. More than 2500 volunteers helped transform it into the new building on the right.
Jubilee finished its new building in under three years, completing the project, which would have cost $2 million at market rate for only $1 million.
• The median household income is $22,500
• 1/3 of the residents never finished high school• 25% of the area’s housing is unsuitable for occupancy.
In the 1960s Lindell Park was a strong and thriving community. Then, in 1966, the Cardinals moved from Sportman’s Park to Busch Stadium. Businesses relocated, landlords neglected homes, and many middle-class families moved out. The result: a downward spiral for the area during the past 40 years.
Jubilee Community Church exists to ignite a unified movement of the Good News of Jesus Christ that will change our community and St. Louis in every way – spiritually, physically, socially and culturally.
Jubilee Claims this Promise If you satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness... Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.
