1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT THE EXISTING FACILITIES AND SURROUNDING GROUNDS DURING CONSTRUCTION. ALL AFFECTED AREAS SHALL BE RESTORED TO EXISTING CONDITIONS BY THE CONTRACTOR AT THECONCLUSION OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.

2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO ANY WORK AND SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL WORK AND MATERIALS INCLUDING THOSE FURNISHED BY SUBCONTRACTORS.

3. DIMENSIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER DRAWINGS. DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS TO DETERMINE ANY LOCATIONS. THE OWNER SHALL BE NOTIFIED IF ANY DISCREPANCY OCCURS PRIOR TO CONTINUING WITH WORK.

4. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE CODES & LOCAL RESTRICTIONS.

5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REPORT ANY ERRORS, INCONSISTENCIES, OR OMISSIONS THEY MIGHT DISCOVER. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING ANY ERRORS AFTER THE START OF CONSTRUCTION WHICHHAVE NOT BEEN BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE OWNER. METHOD OF CORRECTING ANY ERROR SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE OWNER.

6. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO LOCATE ALL EXISTING UTILITIES WHETHER SHOWN HEREIN OR NOT AND TO PROTECT THEM FROM DAMAGE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BEAR ALL EXPENSE OF REPAIROR REPLACEMENT OF UTILITIES OR OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGED BY OPERATIONS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK.

7. THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO LABEL ALL ELECTRICAL PANELS, HVAC EQUIPMENT, ETC.

8. DO NOT OBSTRUCT STREETS, SIDEWALKS, ALLEYS, OR OTHER RIGHT-OF-WAYS WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING PROPER PERMITS.

9. ALL WORK SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED WITH QUALITY WORKMANSHIP OF THE HIGHEST INDUSTRY STANDARDS. ALL MATERIALS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURERS' INSTRUCTIONS ANDRECOMMENDATIONS AND NATIONAL TRADE GROUP STANDARDS.

10. THE OWNER MAY PERFORM ADDITIONAL WORK THAT IS NOT PART OF THIS CONTRACT WITH THEIR OWN FORCES, UNDER SEPARATE CONTRACTS AND/OR WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COOPERATE WITHTHE OWNER AND OTHER CONTRACTORS AND COORDINATE HIS WORK WITH THE OWNER SO THAT WORK BY OTHERS CAN BE INCORPORATED IN A TIMELY MANNER.

11. AGENCY APPROVED PLANS SHALL BE KEPT IN A PLAN BOX ON SITE AND SHALL NOT BE USED BY WORKMEN. ALL CONSTRUCTION SETS SHALL REFLECT SAME INFORMATION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO MAINTAIN IN GOODCONDITION, ONE COMPLETE SET OF PLANS, ADDENDA, AND CHANGE ORDERS, ON PREMISES AT ALL TIMES. THESE ARE TO BE UNDER THE CARE OF THE JOB SUPERINTENDENT AND SHALL BE UPDATED AS THE PROJECT PROGRESSES.

12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMPLETE SECURITY OF THE SITE WHILE JOB IS IN PROGRESS AND IS COMPLETE.

13. ALL DEBRIS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM PREMISES AND ALL AREAS SHALL BE LEFT IN A CLEAN (BROOM) CONDITION AT ALL TIMES. COMBUSTIBLE DEBRIS SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ACCUMULATE. WASTE MATERIAL ORTRASH SHALL NOT BE BURNED ON SITE. ALL PRUDENT MEASURES SHALL BE TAKEN TO SEPARATE WASTE AND DIVERT IT TO APPROVED RECYCLING AREAS.

14. CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THE OCCUPANTS AND WORKERS AT ALL TIMES. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN AT LEAST TWO TYPE 2A-10 BC FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ONSITE DURING CONSTRUCTION.

GENERAL SITE CONDITION NOTES:

1. WORK SHALL CONFORM TO STATE AND LOCAL CODES.

2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INVESTIGATE ON SITE AND VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS OF THE PROJECT AND SHALL NOTIFY THE OWNEROF ANY DISCREPANCY IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS REQUIRING MODIFICATION PRIOR TO PROCEEDING.

3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE NECESSARY PREVENTATIVE MEASURES TO PROTECT EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL, ATNO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER, REPLACE ANY IMPROVEMENTS SO DAMAGED.

4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOCATION AND PROTECTION OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALLVERIFY ALL UTILITY LOCATIONS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION BY CALLING THE UNDERGROUND LOCATE LINE AT 1-800-424-5555 A MINIMUM OF 2 WORKINGDAYS PRIOR TO ANY EXCAVATION. IF THE CONTRACTOR DISCOVERS ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN THE PLANS AND EXISTING CONDITIONSENCOUNTERED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ENGINEER.

5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE A RESPONSIBLE PARTY WHO SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO REPRESENT AND ACT FOR THE CONTRACTOR ATTHE JOB SITE DURING ALL WORKING HOURS. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO HAVE A COPY OF THESE APPROVED PLANSSTAMPED "FOR CONSTRUCTION" ON CONSTRUCTION SITE AT ALL TIMES.

6. THE OWNER AND CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH THE NPDES GCP (NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM GENERALCONSTRUCTION PERMIT). THIS INCLUDES USING BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES TO PREVENT DISCHARGE OF STORM WATER AND SEDIMENTATION FROMTHIS SITE DURING CONSTRUCTION. THE IMPLEMENTATION, CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, REPLACEMENT, AND UPGRADING OF THESE BMP'S ARE THERESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR UNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED AND APPROVED.

7. ANY CHANGES TO THE DESIGN SHALL FIRST BE REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE OWNER.

TESTING & INSPECTION NOTES:

1. ALL TESTING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR, RESULTS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO THE OWNER

2. CONTRACTOR TO HIRE THIRD-PARTY GEOTECHNICAL LABORATORY TO CONDUCT GRADATION TESTS. GRADATION TESTING SHALL CONSISTOF AT LEAST ONE SOIL SAMPLE FROM THE TOP 12" OF NATIVE SUBGRADE MATERIAL FOR EVERY CONTIGUOUS AREA OF REPLACEMENT PAVEMENT,OR ONE SOIL SAMPLE FROM EVERY 1,000 SQUARE YARDS OF PAVEMENT AREA, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. IN ADDITION, SOILS THAT APPEAR TO BEDIFFERENT FROM THE SOIL OF THE FIRST SAMPLE SHALL BE SAMPLED AT LEAST ONCE WITHIN EACH CONTINUOUS PAVEMENT AREA. TESTINGSHALL BE PERCENT PASSING THE NO. 200 STANDARD SIEVE.

3. SPECIAL INSPECTION AND CERTIFICATION OF ADEQUACY SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF WALLA WALLA STANDARDS.

EROSION CONTROL NOTES:

1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL USE BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES CONFORMING TO THE "STORMWATER MANAGEMENT MANUAL FOR EASTERN WASHINGTON" (SWMMEW) TOPREVENT DISCHARGE OF STORM WATER AND SEDIMENTATION FROM THIS SITE DURING CONSTRUCTION. THESE MEASURES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING.

BMP-C105 STABILIZATION OF CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE AND ROADS: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL USE EXISTING PAVED ACCESS ONTO CITY ROADS. TRACKING OF SEDIMENT ONTO THESTREET WILL BE CLEANED UP BY THE CONTRACTOR.

BMP-C140 DUST CONTROL: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PREVENT THE GENERATION OF DUST.
