1. If we consider Indonesian fast train project, please consider the used of PERT /

CPM and analyze what will be the best time scale to finish it?

DEFINITION :

To described it, CPM is The critical path method (CPM) use as a project modeling

technique And PERT is The program (or project) evaluation and review technique,

commonly abbreviated PERT, is a statistical tool, used in project management.

APPLICATION :

PERT is mainly used where the time required for completion of each of the

activities involved cannot be accurately defined nor are the resources to be used for the

activity readily available. This technique is based on the probabilities of completing each

activity in time.

By utilizing the PERT / CPM, the Project Manager may be able to find the

problem at the first hand and overcome those problems before it occurs. Besides, another

function of PERT / CPM is that this project scheduling tools may allocate time for each of

the activity and thus enabling the Project Manager to identify time needed to finish the

Project.

By implementing PERT / CPM, it is belived that the time scale may be on time.

the use of PERT / CPM may lead to reduce the time needed in finishing the Indonesian

fast train project.

Base on WBS the train required 3,1 years to complete. Since we do not have

feasibility yet the PERT using statistics model is asummed same as CPM above.

2. If we agree with the government project on National Food Sustainability

Program, please use the strategic analysis combine with project management,

know how and come up with suggestions to successful implementation.

To analyze this major issue, there are some of 5 important aspects that need to be

pointed out and taken care to solve this case :

AVAILABILITY

With availibility, all the farmer and agricullture industry in general should

have further insentivise to ensure the readinesss and availability amount of food

being produced.

DISTRIBUTION

In regard to distribution, distribution channel that are reliable should be

built up so that farmers are able to smoothly deliver the goods without extra

significant cost applied only for distribution.

ACCESABILITY

By having accesability, government should ensure that in every places in

Indonesia, the foods are fairly and easily accessable in which it can be done by

building BULOG representative in each of every cities or even “Kecamatan”

PRODUCTION

Crop and Production: Includes identifying and implementing best

management practices for national food systems that are environmentally,

economically, and socially sound; integrating superior and best management

practices into profitable, productive, and environmentally sound integrated

systems for crop and animal production; and other actions described more fully

below.

DEVELOPMENT

Assessing new biotechnology varieties for their contributions to

sustainable agricultural systems, and assessing policies and management strategies

for their ability to contribute to the coexistence of different agricultural production

systems.

Improve food products in Indonesia : Election of three value chain (corn,

cattle, and seaweed) as the focus of the program is based on assessment conducted

in the early stages of the program, with considering the job opportunities, income

and potential productivity and impact of food sustainability program.
