Think big!…we’ve had 3 paper submissions from the class over the years…and 1 startup incorporated…and 1 patent filed…and 2 applications that were later done by other companies…and lots of applications that got significant usage

Tools to keep in mind

Some ideas off the top of my head…1. Kickstarter for research2. Build a crowd-funding entity for Caltech student projects!3. Uber for EV owners (charging)4. Cloud service for the smart home5. Study faculty hiring / faculty salaries / etc. (lots of good public data)6. Build a Piazza-killer?7. Study the inequities of Uber / AirBnB8. Do something interesting on top of Google scholar data

(better interface, more statistics, etc.)…
