ISTTM GUIDELINES FOR STUDENT PROJECT DOCUMENTATION REPORT Note to the Student: General guidelines are prepared and presented in the following pages with the intention of delivering: Common procedure to write the project report Common font size of the project report for aesthetic reasons. Hence students are advised to follow these guidelines while preparing their project reports in consultation with their project guide(s). Any deviation from these guidelines in their project work is not allowed. Students are supposed to submit the soft copy to their respective guide along with hard copies to the college in order to make them available for the benefit of next batch students. 1. Project Study is basically aimed at understanding the subjects more practically and learn the subjects in live at the work places within the organization. Students are required to prepare and discuss with their faculty guide regarding the profile of the company and the functional area in which they intend doing the project. Note to the Student:

Hence students are advised to follow these guidelines while preparing their project reports in consultation with their project guide(s).

Any deviation from these guidelines in their project work is not allowed.

Students are supposed to submit the soft copy to their respective guide along with hard copies to the college in order to make them available for the benefit of next batch students.

1. Project Study is basically aimed at understanding the subjects more practically and learn the subjects in live at the work places within the organization. Hence, the students are advised to make best use of this opportunity to the best of their ability.

2. Submission of Topic of Study . Students are required to prepare and discuss with their faculty guide regarding the profile of the company and the functional area in which they intend doing the project. Whatever the topic is selected, it should be based on primary research. Within Ten days of reporting to the respective companies, the students are required to submit to the following information to project coordinator/ faculty guide:-a) Title of the Project. Name of the Project Topic chosen for the study.

b) Nomination of Guides by the Industry . Information regarding the external guide nominated by the organization, indicating the name of the resource person, designation, e-mail id and contact number.

c) Time Plan . Detailed time plan for the Project study in consultation with External guide.

3. Weekly Reports . Students are to send the weekly progress report to the faculty guide. Those students who do not submit reports on weekly basis will not be allowed to submit their project reports.

4. All correspondence relating to the above issues are to be sent to both Faculty Guide and the Project Coordinator. The study period is restricted for a period of six weeks. In order to release results in time, students are required to submit the Project reports on time.

5. Days of Absence . If any student has difficulty in not attending to the project activity due to exigencies/ medical reasons, the same may be supported by documents for the information of faculty guide.

6. Points to be borne while preparing the Final Project Report . The report should be about 50 pages (Cover page, index, charts and graphs, sources of data etc., are excluded in the count.).

7. It is important to give source of data below every table of data mentioned in the reports. It is a study conducted by an author, or industry association etc., generally, the data published in newspapers, magazines, trade reports, industry association etc., are only considered as authentic. Confidentiality. All information collected and included should not include confidential data and should be cleared by the organization.

8. In case of difficulty, the faculty guide assigned to the students will be of immense help and assistance to make your study more comfortable and sort out any issues arises from time to time with the organizational (External) guides.

9. Documents to be Collected at the End of the Project . After completion of the study, the students are required to collect a following letters and submit the same to SPGS.

a. Attendance for 6 weeks of study(45 days).b. Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of the study in the organization.c. General Conduct Letter from the organization during the study.

10. The student may be asked by the industry to make a formal presentation to the staff. This should be done most meticulously. Most important point to be noted is that at the time of placement interviews, the number of questions and emphasis will be about the learning’s and findings of this study. Therefore, students are required to be focused and make this an analytical and a comprehensive learning process.

Cover page and inside cover :

It consists of the title of the project report, name of the author(s), month & year of the project work submission and name of the organization as per the format.Table of contents:

The index contains several divisions and subdivisions of the work with related page numbers. These divisions should have exactly the same heading as they appear in the text. List of tables and list of figures, nomenclature ( list of symbols) follow the index.

Main report: This is divided into sections and sub sections and heading to each section heading.
