MONTAGEDescription:A motivational picture

Date: October 25, 2015

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 05

Joel Judkins

Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:Blend two or more images together gradually, using masks

Process: I first found a picture that was strong but simple. I contrasted the strong black sans script font

with the white snow background. I used a lot of whitespace to make it clean. I applied a mask to the name-tag, fading it out.

LOGOSDescription:

A logo for my roommates company, Life Wedding Rings

Date: November 1, 2015

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 05

Joel Judkins

Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:Use only the Illustrator tools to create and draw your logos.

Process: I concluded that the company was geared towards and active audience. I created the logo with a shape that expressed this. I chose a sans serif font that was thin enough to keep it modern while

still feeling active. I incorporated the ring so one can easily know what the company sells.

LETTERHEADDescription:

Letterhead for my roommate’s company, Life Wedding Rings

Date: November 7, 2015

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 05

Joel Judkins

Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:design a consistent layout for a letterhead

Process: I chose the bright color from the logo and used it as the main color. I chose a lighter shade

beneath the contact information so that written text would be easily legible. I planned it to be simple but still similar. I also wanted the information to be more subtle so I made the size of the

Logo largest to emphasize its priority.

Date: November 7, 2015

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 05

Joel Judkins

Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:design a consistent layout for a business card

Process: I chose strong fonts to emphasize the important information. I also left a lot of whitespace to

make it modern. I picked colors from the logo for the background colors. I cut the card in an interesting shape that played off of the logo’s shape.

Description:A brochure promoting a local mattress company, Idaho Mattress Outlet

Date: December 5, 2015

Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 05

Joel Judkins

Program(s)/Tools: Adobe PhotoshopAdobe Illustrator

Objectives:Set up and align a two-sided, folded document

Process: I made the visual portion a bed to draw attention to the brochure. Immediately the audience

knows what it’s about. As for the content, it was a comparison between the competition and the company. It also appealed to local customers as it featured a section about being from Idaho

with a picture of the state.
