What is FCE’s vision?Jesus Christ, making disciples through us worldwide, by building a Highway of Holiness, through education and training.

How does FCE operate?

FCE works in and through relationships. It is therefore important that each person involved in FCE can testify to a personal relation-ship with Jesus Christ.

FCE trains and equips missionaries, missionaries teachers and com-munity workers to function from a truly Biblical perspective and to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. The content of our train-ing is ‘to know Christ’ and the practical implementation of our training is ‘to live” Christ.

FCE organises outreaches to expose and involve the wider Body of Christ in the work and projects of FCE.FCE creates opportunities for volunteers to serve and gain experience in cross-cultural enviroment which functions from a Christ-centred perspective.

Where does FCE operate? FCE has permanent training centers in Southern and Central Africa. Staff members live and work among the people they are training. There are currently 82 full-time staff members who work in the fol-lowing Training Centers:

Project 1Koti ni Eden - Staff Houses/Accommodation

In December 2010 FCE moved from Masaiti toKoti ni Eden in Zambia. This move to our ownbuildings and own land was a spiritual experi-ence. This is a NEW BEGINNING. The Lordconfirmed that to us from Ezekiel 37:14: “I willputMy Spirit inyou, andyoushall live, and Iwillplace you in your own land. Then you shall know

that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it.”WepraisetheLordforwhatHehasestablishedduringthe years at Koti ni Eden and we are deeply thankful

towards supporters from many parts of the world who provided finances, prayed and came to help physi-cally to set up the buildings. The staff of FCE needs to have proper housing, as most of them are mar-ried and have children of their won. Staff members are currently living in the student dorms and more that one are living together in the single homes. FCE is looking for partners who can help with the following:9 Single quarters for staff4Two-bedroomhousesforstaff

Project 2Koti ni Eden - Kitchen Project

The nature of food prepa-ration in Africa is mostly women’s work. It in-volves cultivating small patches of vegetables and grains by hand, pounding grains with

a pestle, fetching wood and chipping it down for cooking, balancing large buck-ets of water on one’s head and carrying it from water source to home, bending over the open fires outside a tiny hut.The daily menus consist of Nshima(aporridgemadewithcornflour)thebasisoflifeinZambiaandarelish,aseconddishwhichisalwaysservedwithNshima.Westernersfinditdifficulttoadapttothismenu. The diners sit around the table or onthefloor.ThecustomaryprocedureistotakealumpofNshimaandthenslowlyshape it into a round ball using the palm and the fingersof the right hand. The

nshima is then dipped into the relish be-foreitiseaten.Themeneatfirstandtheleftovers are for the women and children. At Koti ni Eden, our training centre in Zambia, itisnotpossibleforustoadaptonly to the traditional way of cooking and eating, mainly because we are a cross-cultural group and because we have to feed over 300 staffmembers, studentsand workers every day from the kitchen. Our menu includes Nshima and rel-ish, butwefind it necessary to includea variety of nutritious food and fruit that builds the immune system against ma-laria and other ailments. Therefore we use our kitchen also as a training area to expose the people to diversity and to train them in healthy eating and thinking.

With thehelpofaGermanMissionOr-ganization, FCE was able to build abeautiful dining hall and kitchen at the campus. The structure was finished

in 2007. Now the interior needs tobe completed so that the kitchen can start to operate. We do not only feedFCE’s staff, students and workers from the kitchen, but during the hunger sea-son we also cook for the children at the CTCand trust theLord forample sup-plies to take care of the less privilege in the communities surrounding us.

Project 3Kalungu Training Centre Zambia

FCE has permanent training centers in Southern and CentralAfrica. Work at this Training Centre started in September 2000. Aconference centre, kitchen and dining hall have been erected. There is also a house for the staff and two dormitories for stu-dents. Kalungu also boasts with a King’s Highway Camping site and chalets for tourists. Funds generated from this venture are used to help with the running costs of the training centre. The training that takesplace includes: TheDiscipleshipMis-sionTraining,MissionTraining,CommunityDevelopmentandAgricultural training. All training is focused on serving the people in the villages. FCE workers are involved in the community by means of friendship evangelism: we minister to the whole village and we train the men in agriculture, making of bricks, thatching of roofs, building and carpentry. The women are trained in pri-mary health care, cookery and sewing. Adult literacy is also pre-sented to both men and women. Children are prepared for for-mal schooling by means of games, stories and large and small motor skills, and through children’s evangelism programmes they are led to Jesus. A vegetable garden has been established and it is developed not only to provide food for the staff, but also serves as an example and an incentive for the local peo-

ple to grow a variety of vegetables for their own consumption. The Firm Foundation teachings prepare the people to receive Christ as their savior and to be set free from the bondage and fear of witchcraft that is practiced in most of the villages. The heartbeat of FCE is the transformation of whole communities where Jesus Christ is at the centre of every aspect of society. LukeSichoneandAmickPhiriaretwoyoungmenwhogrewupin Kalungu village.
