+ Quality Summary 7. Looking back to your preliminary task, what do you feel that you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? Quality of holding a shot steady From the preliminary task we struggled with issues on how to get steady moving shot. So for the final production of our presentation to get the angle shots steady we decided to practice moving the camera on the tripod to get a better notion of the shot. This can be shown in the clip where the camera follows the young females jogging and the frame of the shot behind the trees. This in return gave us a steady shot of the performance. Quality of the framing shots In the preliminary task we only used three standard framing shots so we set goals to achieve for our final presentation of our coursework. The following goals we achieved were drawing out a storyboard, which allocated frame shots to scenes. This can be shown through consistency of the shots. We also had allocated one slot for the ‘camera man’ so they would be able to research different frame shots that would signify what we the opening scene with the tracking of the running was trying to portray. Quality of shooting material appropriate to the task set- i.e. the content of your film pre and post editing was consistent with the exam directives The film was close to the synopsis of the story and script with a few subtle changes. Shown through the synchronized dialogue between the two actresses from the written script. The content of the film follows the genre of psychological horror Quality of selecting mise- en-scène including colour, figure, lighting, objects and setting; We found a conventional setting that matches the genre of setting it in a remote running path. Using young females shows a sense of innocence and naivety and also vulnerability Improvement from the preliminary task as the characters wore costumes according to their role to add to the atmosphere i.e. wearing leggings and a jumpsuit top to go out jogging

Quality of holding a shot steady

From the preliminary task we struggled with issues on how to get steady moving shot.

This can be shown through consistency of the shots.We also had allocated one slot for the ‘camera man’ so they would be able to research different frame shots that would signify what we the opening scene with the tracking of the running was trying to portray.

Quality of shooting material appropriate to the task set- i.e. the content of your film pre and post editing was consistent with the exam directives

The film was close to the synopsis of the story and script with a few subtle changes.Shown through the synchronized dialogue between the two actresses from the written script. The content of the film follows the genre of psychological horror

Quality of selecting mise-en-scène including colour, figure, lighting, objects and setting;

We found a conventional setting that matches the genre of setting it in a remote running path.Using young females shows a sense of innocence and naivety and also vulnerabilityImprovement from the preliminary task as the characters wore costumes according to their role to add to the atmosphere i.e. wearing leggings and a jumpsuit top to go out jogging

Quality of editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer

The editing marginally shows that the young females was being followed and was at a fast pace to cause tension shown through the sharp direct cuts between the two females.

Quality of using sound with images and editing appropriately for the task set;

The soundtrack was of an eerie persona to add more tension and give a underlying meaning to the openingIt had to be adjusted so the soundtrack only became upbeat when the title of the film was shown The sound was faded when the females spoke

Quality of positioning and movements of actors The characters were of either two positions:

stationary or joggingBut whilst being stationary the characters would be stretching to show agitation to show they are vibrant haractersTo carry out they are youthful and active

Quality of group planning, meeting targets, organization

An improvement from the preliminary task as we were planning a week ahead what equipment was required and what actors. Downfalls was when the storyline had to be alternated due to flaws in the script

Group dynamics i.e. how did your group work together

Our team was very co operative and supported each other even if it wasn’t the role that had been allocated to them One member was unreliable but that was due to poor health

Other points of evaluation (e.g. equipment related etc)

Our provided camera was of poor quality and lacked focus and definitonIt didn’t pick up on sound as thought
