Progress Report on Education for Empowering marginalized

Adolescents girls and school students for the period

April2011 to March 2012

The project progressively completed 5thyears with the

strong support from Asha for Education’s and its team of

volunteers, community at large, target group and its

project implementation team. The implementation team

met all the component within the project period which

has been possible with spontaneous support received

and active involvement of stake holders and family

members of the target groups.

Project started from 1st April 2011 with 125 marginalized

school going (V,VI,VII) and non school going (over age

and school dropout) girls providing back up support and

cultivate interest of study from the centers at Topsia

Tiljala Tangra and Ultadanga slums. 117 poor school

student one at Janakalyan high school at Tangra and

another one at Allahabharosa school providing free back

up support on the subject of English ,history , geography

science and math’s class to the students of standard

V111,IX,X including raising capacity of students to

realize their full potentials through co-curricular

activities.

5 higher secondary girls who success fully appeared for

class XII Board examination that is only possible because

they all were sponsored from the volunteers of Asha for

Education. They got all the required educational support

which gave them strength and self-confidence. This has

retained them of being DROPPED OUT; these girls

involved with Trinita's education centre for the last ten

years were mainstreamed into formal schools.

This project combine’s community based literacy & basic

education who are dropouts and for school going.

Periodic meetings organized with parents and respective

headmasters to know child’s progress and help developed

a healthy child guardian rapport for all round

development of their ward.

Objectives of the Project :

• To control and stop school Drop out

• To Provide Back-up coaching support for school

going students

• To impart Basic Alternative Education for those over

age non-school going girls

• Sponsorship support for the 5 High School Girls

Our intervention:

Provides education guidance 5 days a week 3 hour in 5

slum areas, regular contact and feedback with local key

people, parents and school teacher for their daily

performance and

influence all stake

holders to encourage the

students for improving

their future prospects.

Our Animators Help

them to their class work

and prepared them for

final examination, convince parents to provide all

support to their daughter’s study and try to minimize or

stop their house hold workload, discussing with the local

community people/ party leaders to be more sensitive for

the safety of the girls from abuse, early marriage and

from all forms of exploitation.

Imparted basic education and Bride course for non-

School Going girls; motivated their parents to admit them

to the local school.

Intervening alternative education for girls those are over

age not get chance in a school our Animators provided

basic education and follow the government syllabus.

We also trying to develop new strategies in order to make

education interesting and meaningful

School Support Program

This year Trinita started to

provide Back up support in

the High School for poor

marginalized Students, the

parents are not able to bear

the cost of private tutor .our

special attention was on week

students, We provided

guidance on the subjects

like, English, math’s

History and Geography by

providing teachers in two

School for class VIII, XI

&X students after the

school hour 3 days a

week. Special guidance

provided to class X Students appeared for Board

examination.

Trinita’s Staff regular keeping contact with the Head

Master and other teacher for their regular performance

and seek evaluation from all as well developed good

rapport connection with their parents

This center is mainly built to provide coaching assistance to class

8th , 9th and 10th student who cannot afford the expenses of extra

classes required for getting better guidance in there preparations

for the board

GIRLS SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

Sponsorship program for five girls belongs to very poor

family in the slums. 7 to 8 members of their families live

in a tiny room. Four of them have appeared for Higher

Secondary Examination and one promoted from XI to XII.

Trinita’s staff always keeps in touch with these girls not

only watching education but also guide their other

regular needs and activities. Trinita kept regular contact

with their parents, school teacher and private teacher.

Other activities for girls

The girls simultaneously getting support for their other

skill training like Computer Training, spoken English,

photography, video grapy

and access to internet and

for non-school/drop out girls

they got support on sewing,

tailoring ,embroidery, Quilt

&bag making for their future

livelihood. All the girls time

to time getting training on

sustainability of life, to

wisdom their knowledge

and making them aware

of their strengths and

abilities and also

motivating them to

pursue and improve

their area of interest.
