A Brief History

The Viswa Mahavidyalaya was established in 1993 with the benign Blessings of their Holiness

Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji and Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamiji. It

was formed under the aegis of Sri Kanchi Kamako� Peetam Charitable Trust. The most ancient

system of medicine, Ayurveda, originated in India and it is gaining popularity across the world

among the alterna�ve medicines. Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College and Hospital

(SJSACH), Department of SCSVMV started B.A.M.S. course in the year 1995 and PG in

Ayurveda in the year 2019 (the first college in Tamilnadu).

VISION

To be a centre of excellence for erudi�on of Ayurveda, and to sculpture skilful and

knowledgeable physicians and to achieve holis�c health in the community.

To achieve holis�c health locally, na�onally & globally. We do this through unique educa�onal

pa�ern to produce the leading Ayurveda physicians and scien�sts of future and unravelling

the ancient knowledge through research to empower the en�re Ayurveda fraternity.

LOCATION

SJSACH is situated in the le� side of NH4 - Chennai-Bangalore highway at Nazrathpet,

Poonamallee, and 27 km west from Chennai Central railway sta�on and 18 km from Chennai

Interna�onal Airport. The College is built on a sprawling campus of 10 acres. Pollu�on free

environment makes the campus a pleasant and conducive place for pursuit of Ayurveda

medical educa�on.

well established In Pa�ents Hospital. Chronic diseases to which SJSACH offers special

treatment. Joint Disorders, Life style disorders, Chronic psychosoma�c disorders, Primary

And Secondary Infer�lity, Gynecological Disorders, Post Stroke Rehabilita�on, Psoriasis,

Chronic Skin Diseases, Piles, Fistula And Fissures, Au�sm & other pediatric ailments. Hospital

will enrich the students’ prac�cal knowledge to become a good Ayurveda Prac��oner.
