Eligibility Criteria
Have at least 3 years of relevant teaching experience in the early childhood sector (Based on the date of the first relevant qualification attained)
Be currently employed in a pre-school registered or licensed with ECDA
Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident EY1/EY2/L1 Educarer
Be nominated by your current operator
Have met the competencies and skills of Infant/Toddler Educarer or Beginning Educarer as described in the Skills Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education

Programme Structure
PDP participants must complete the stipulated programme milestones and remain employed in their nominating organisations during the course of the PDP and for at least six months after the end of each PDP year in order to receive the cash award.

Programme Milestones - Compulsory Core Training*Course Title • Respectful, Responsive and Reciprocal (3Rs) Interactions with Infants and Toddlers
Outcomes• Understand the importance of early relationships & attachments, and how they
influence children’s development
• Apply the 3Rs strategies in your daily interactions and relationships with children to provide meaningful learning experiences
• Be equipped to guide/support your fellow educarers in implementing the 3Rs strategies in their practice

Nomination Process

How many educarers can a centre nominate?
• There is no limit to the number of nominations! Organisations are encouraged to nominate as many educarers as they identify as being suitable
Does PDP(E) provide a certification?
• Designed based on skills deepening rather than providing formal qualification and certification
• Receive a “Statement of Attainment” and be exempted from modules when you complete pre-requisite modules and subsequently enrol for the full qualification
• Be certified to teach children aged 2 months to 3 years old upon completing the ACEY top-up modules.
Can Mother Tongue language educarers be nominated?
• Yes, all educarers who met the eligibility criteria can apply for PDP(E)
• Compulsory Core Training is conducted in English, educarers who are minimally competent in reading and writing in English will be able to complete the training. A CL class will be offered if there are at least 20 CL educarers on PDP(E).
• Community of Practice discussions and Showcase of Learning can be conducted in Mother Tongue languages as well
Is there an assignment component for the compulsory core training?
• Yes, there is an assignment component for the compulsory core training to assess participant’s understanding and application of the course content.
• Assignment designed so that it can be completed with basic reading and writing skills in English
What funding are available?
• The compulsory core training, CPD courses and the teacher training programme modules will be subsidised by ECDA or SSG funding.
• For innovation and Practitioner Inquiry Grant projects, participating preschools will receive funding from ECDA to support the project implementation.
• Support will be provided to participants during their journey on PDP.
What if participants leave their organisations midway through?
• Participants will not be eligible for the cash awards for the year of the programme they are on, and they will also not be allowed to be nominated for PDP(E) a second time by the organisation they are newly employed with.
• All participants will only be allowed to be part of PDP(E) once.
• ECDA will provide support to participants to address any concerns along the way so that PDP can be manageable and enjoyable.
Is there any penalty for not completing the programme?
• No, there is no penalty if participants do not complete programme or service milestones.
• However, Participants will not be able to receive the year’s cash award, and they will be withdrawn from the programme.
