Programme of the Orientation Week

Dear International Students!
We are exceptionally happy to welcome you at our beautiful city, Budapest, and at Óbuda
University. The first week of February is the orientation week, which is organized to our
students to give them an efficiency start for the semester.
These programmes are for you, we are looking forward to meeting you and answering your
questions. This booklet has the detailed schedule for the week, you can find the venue, date
and participants for each event.
We hope this booklet will help you always find the event you should be at, and don’t miss out
on anything. You can find in our booklet some abbreviations:

Program Schedule:
Programmes of the orientation days are the following:
7th of February, Wednesday 10:00-12:00:
- Greeting of incoming students
- “Meeting of cultures”, general presentation
- Work and fire protection presentation
- Introduction of libraries
Location: 1034 Budapest, Bécsi út 96/b, ground floor, room F01
7th of February, Wednesday, from 12:00:
Sightseeing in Budapest
8th of February, Thursday:
- Faculty visits and enrolment, according to each different faculty (details below)
9th of February, Friday
- Neptun seminars: 11:00-12:00 according to the tables below
- Meeting of the world, social event; from 12:00 to approximately 14:30
These programmes are compulsory, we are expecting every student to attend.
The only exceptions are those, who previously specified the reason of their
absence.
‘Meeting of cultures’ and general presentation
Location: 96/b, Bécsi Str. H-1034 (accessible with Tram 17, 19, 41, at the stopping-place ‘Katinyi mártírok parkja’) After the main entrance, please follow the signs for Erasmus students.
Start: 7th February, 10:00-12:00
At this event you will hear the greeting of the Institutional Coordinator of Óbuda University, a general
presentation about the summary of useful information, then the basics of the university’s regulations
about work- and fire protection. Staff from the university’s library will also introduce the different
libraries too.
After the presentations the sightseeing will begin after a short break, and it is expected to be a few
hours long.
Wednesday
ENROLMENT AND FACULTY VISIT
During this event, each faculty’s staff will lead its students around their faculty. Some of them will have
a short introduction as well. On this same day, the faculties will enrol the students and give them the
temporary student card/certificate (A4 sheet), with which they can prove to Hungarian authorities
they are student at our university. The event is organised by each faculty differently:
Donát Bánki Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering:
12:30-13:30, 8. Népszínház Str. (can be easily accesibble by Metro line 2, at ’Blaha Lujza’ metro station;
or by Tram 4 or 6)

NEPTUN SEMINARS
Neptun is an online system, which has many information related to your studies such as
timetable of lectures, exams, important updates on changes.
Venue: in 5 computer rooms (labs) in the main building, 96/b Bécsi Str.
Time: Friday, 09.02.2018, all five courses will start at 11:00

This event is organised by the Mobility Department and mentors (fellow students) of the university
for you, to get together and know each other better before the start of the semester.
