Welcome

PFI are delighted to present to you the first ever International Day to be held at DTU. It is also the first event to be organised by PFI and we hope to host many more events like this, on both Lyngby and Ballerup campus, to promote further the international atmosphere at DTU. We hope you enjoy the day and look forward to hearing your feedback so that we can make next year’s International Day even better.

International Affairs at DTU Lyngby is happy to welcome you to International Day 2013. The aim of the day is to put a focus on the many study abroad opportunities you have as a DTU student, whether you are from Campus Ballerup or Campus Lyngby. We collaborate with more than 250 of the best universities in the world, and today you have the chance to talk to students from a variety of our partner universities.

To study a semester abroad is one of the best ways to ensure an international profile, appreciated and requested from large international corporations and smaller innovative companies alike.

TUM - Technische Universität München

The TUM offers 151 degree programs, 21 of them master’s programs taught in English. The spectrum of disciplines represented at the univer-sity includes medicine, engineering, the natural and life sciences, as well as economics and education. LEGO MindstormwithBEST

BEST Copenhagen = a group of active students who combine studies at DTU with organizing courses, competitions and traveling to events all over Europe.

BEST is a steady growing student organisation including 90 universi-ties all over Europe – and provide all students on DTU the possibility to apply for BEST courses, competitions and trainings. BEST Copenhagen was founded in 1991, and has organized countless major international events and connected students of Denmark to a network of european engineers.

Language CornerwithErasmus Students Network

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a non-profit volunteer European association. It’s main goal is to represent international students and provide opportunities for cultural understanding, self-development, and meeting new people under the principle of ‘Students Helping Students’. At ESN DTU our aim is to provide the students the opportunity to get to know Denmark and Danish culture, by organising different kinds of events including cultural visits, leisure activities, trips around Denmark, parties and, of course, teaming up with students from the other universi-ties in Copenhagen.

ESN also provides exchange information and encourages future ex-change students to gain the international experience and gain relevant insight to different cultures.

International Affairs

International Affairs at DTU consists of 12 full-time employees and a number of student counsellors. The student counsellors will be your primary starting point during your planning of your exchange abroad. They handle all the daily requests from international students and Dan-ish students interested in studying abroad. The full-time staff work on setting up the right framework to facilitate internationalization in terms of receiving international students and arranging studies abroad for students at DTU.

The International Affairs office is open on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The office is located in building 101A on the ground floor.

IAESTE

The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Techni-cal Experience (IAESTE) is an independent, non-profit and non-political student exchange organisation. It provides students in technical degrees with paid, course-related training abroad and employers with highly skilled, highly motivated international trainees. With more than 80 mem-ber countries and over 4000 traineeships exchanged each year, it is the largest organisation of its kind in the world.
