Q1 In any project, there will be relationships between the objectives of safety, quality, cost and delivery.

Assess the impact of these relationships, using examples to illustrate your answer. (25 marks)

Q2 (a) Review the use of Model Form Contracts in project management. (15 marks)

(b) Outline the core clauses in the New Engineering Contract (NEC3) and give examples of the optional clauses. (10 marks)

Discuss FIVE approaches to project selection that are either numerical or non-numerical. (25 marks)

Q4 (a) Propose a methodology to undertake value engineering for a major project. (15 marks)

(b) At a recent conference, a keynote speaker claimed that “despite the apparent rise of activity in open book costing, such true transparency rarely exists in practice and it remains an aspiration”.

Debate the use of open book costing and its related transparency in programme and project management. (10 marks)
