A Few Style Guidelines

(Refer to the AMA Manual of Style for more examples of writing style)

▪ Omit the period from honorifics, scientific terms, and abbreviations (John Smith, MD, PhD E coli mg)

▪ Bullet points shall not end with periods or colons

▪ Include a space between a number and units (10 mg, not 10mg)

▪ Use hyphens only to avoid ambiguity

▪ Comorbid and healthcare are single words, case based is two

▪ Spell out the first occurrence of an abbreviation[…studies show IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) can cause…]

▪ Avoid “orphan” words hanging alone (adjust text pt size)

▪ All slide transitions wipe right

▪ CONSISTENCY!
