A PLACE

WITHOUT EQUAL

With an annual average temperature of 84 degrees and 330 days of sunshine in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, you can enjoy acclaimed golf courses, whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, camping and shopping anytime. Although the Valley of the Sun is comprised of several cities, here are some of the major highlights of the area:

SCOTTSDALE

With a prosperous history, Scottsdale is known to attract people from locations across the country and internationally — those who want to be a part of “the good life.” Scottsdale was ranked as a Top 10 best mid-sized city for millennials. With 60-plus art galleries and world-class resorts, restaurants, spas and nightlife, people are

attracted to Scottsdale for its quality of life. In addition, Scottsdale is an environmentally conscious community, and is close to two major airports.

DOWNTOWN AND CENTRAL PHOENIX

As described by a local journalist, Phoenix is a place to both “hang out with hipsters and make family-friendly memories.” Downtown and Central Phoenix are known for their coffee bars and speakeasies as well as its parks. South Mountain Park is the largest municipal park in the country with 16,000 acres and everything from hiking and biking to horseback riding. If that’s not enough, check out the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, the Indoor Football League’s Arizona Rattlers or the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury.

TEMPE

The home of Arizona State University, Tempe also has a wide variety of breweries and coffee shops that fuel Tempe’s vibrant lifestyle. While sipping coffee, you can kayak on Tempe Town Lake, hit the trails in Papago Park or visit one of Tempe’s many museums — ASU’s Art Museum or the Gallery of Scientific Exploration, for example.

GLENDALE

In addition to visiting the Westgate Entertainment District with its many restaurants, entertainment venues and shops, residents pack in it at the sports arenas. Glendale is home to both the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes and the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals. Glendale is also

home to Sahuaro Ranch, commonly known as the Showplace of the Valley due to its array of rose gardens, playgrounds and olive groves.

GILBERT

Formerly described as the hay-shipping capital of the world, Gilbert has grown into “Phoenix’s coolest suburb” and a “top-5 foodie neighborhood in metro Phoenix.” Parents and kids can also find a place at Gilbert’s downtown area known as Heritage District. It boasts a splash pad, a variety of restaurants and shops of all kinds.
