Program
Our February meeting is a working meeting........so plan on having some fun. We will be doing some needed work on our community quilts. We have twenty tops and matching backs (thank you, Debbie Davis) that need to have batting. We also have a number of quilts that need to have their binding hand sewn to be considered finished. So please bring your scissors,t hread, needles etc. and plan to sew, cut, and have some fun. We will have some surprises such as great desserts, games, and prizes.
On the following Saturday, also at Christ the King Catholic Church, we will have a working quilt retreat from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. Bring your sack lunch, and we will furnish drinks and desserts.
Community News
I want to thank Debbie Davis for creating twenty "backs" for our many guilt tops, Barbara Blanco for ALWAYS taking something from community quilts home with her to work on, Kathy LaForge for ALWAYS being counted on to quilt for us on her long arm, and Janet Fesler for constantly creating beautiful quilts and donating them to our communi-ty fund. And if I forgot anyone, I thank you, also. There is a great need in our community for our lovely guilts!
Always feel free to call (839-2396) or e-mail ([email protected]) me if you have any questions or concerns. Shar Evans

Mystery Quilt
In a guild where it is so difficult to find people
to volunteer we have 2 Mystery quilts this
year! Linda Glaros and Tina McCullough are
excitedly offering us an appliqued whimsical
quilt that will start in May after Kathy’s quilt
has finished. The quilt is fun and easy and
allows you to use up scraps. We ALL Need
that! You will get to see part of the quilt put
together so you can pick your fabrics and
arrange them as you please.
Linda and Tina hope everyone will have fun
and change things up to make a very special
quilt! They will have surprises and gifts for
everyone who finishes on time. SO get your
excitement on—its turning out to be an exciting
year!
Fabric & Notions
Have some quilting fabric that needs to move
out of your home? Have some special quilting
notions that you just do not use? The guild’s
Relay For Life team appreciates any and all of
your quilt related items!!
Please bring your fabric and notions to a guild
meeting from February to May, and we will
happily accept your donated items for our
Relay fundraiser. Thanks!

January Meeting Our meeting had a great turn out. I hope
everyone enjoyed the quilt pictures. Thank you
again Rae and Chris! I hope some people may
have gotten interested in either going to Santa
Clara or Sisters for a quilt show.
We had a lot of business since this was our first
meeting of the year. Dee Jennings told a won‐
derful story about the amazing friendships
she’s made that are worth more than the $25
membership fee. I have to agree with her. I
have made some wonderful friendships
through the guild. These have turned out to be
lifelong friends.
I would also like to thank again the wonderful
people who have taken positions and contin‐
ued to keep them and give and give of their
time! The guild wouldn’t be able to continue
without you. You know who you are, and
you’re the BEST!!!

Fat Quarters
Just noticed that the Ornamental Cherry trees
are in bloom. How perfect to have lots of fat
quarters for our February meeting in a mixture
of spring colors. I found several in my stash to
share. Hope that you find some in your stash,
too. Every fat quarter that you bring gives you
a chance to win in a big way.
Theme: Spring flowers.
Colors: Spring Colors.
Animal: Butterflies.
Yes. Thatʹs my chosen animal.

On The Raffle Table By this time the 1st meeting is over and our
raffle table has been a success. We made
$64.00! Linda Glaros won the quilting certifi‐
cate from Susie Freese, and Katie Covington
won the gift certificate from Ocean Waves!
Late January I’m leaving for Illinois to visit my
daughter and family. Guess what there is at
quilt stores in Illinois? So no telling what
might pop up onto the raffle table this month.
If you have any green or St. Patrick’s Day fabric
hanging around, you might think about a little
donation to the raffle table.
