Modern Mobile Cellular Communication Systems are a

important part of the Advanced Telecommunication

Networks. MCS is always trying to keep its students

abreast with the latest market needs. Moreover, MCS

takes initiative to address market requirements and impart

trainings to professionals working in various industries.

The importance of understanding the technology and

planning techniques of 3G/4G Cellular System increases

many folds as these systems will soon be implemented in

Pakistan. Therefore, Dr. Adnan Ahmed Khan is

organizing a workshop on the “3G and 4G Cellular Systems

Technical Overview, Optimization and Planning”. The

workshop will be conducted in collaboration with relevant

industry experts. Trainers possess adequate experience

and knowledge in the training, planning, installation and

optimization of Universal Mobile Telecommunications

Systems (UMTS) based Cellular Communication Networks.

Speakers' remuneration and other expenses will be met

from registration fee.

The aim of the course is to provide adequate knowledge

and understanding of future Cellular Systems like UMTS

Release-99 Wideband Code Division Multiple Access

(WCDMA), High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) and Long

Term Evolution (LTE). This Workshop will targets students,

faculty members and industrial professional engaged in

teaching and research on Mobile communication Systems

around the country.

.Description

In this short training major emphasis will be on the

description, design, optimization and planning of

CDMA-2000 and 3G UMTS and 4G LTE Systems. A

thorough review of various UMTS releases will be carried

out. Practical UMTS network planning and optimization

using tools will be an interesting part of the training. This

training is aimed to equip academicians and professionals

with knowledge and skills related to UMTS Network

Planning and Optimization, in addition, to provide a

comprehensive overview of 4G technologies. After

attending this course the attendees will have a

comprehensive overview of the UMTS and its various

releases. They will be able to understand wireless channel

modeling. Learn about the CDMA2000 and WCDMA based

access technology used in UMTS. The architecture and

interfaces in the UMTS will also be discussed. The HSPA

(3.5G) and LTE (4G used to achieve higher data rates and

the resource management in these networks will also be

presented.
