Offering evidence based assistance ranging from the management of Stress, Insomnia and Depression, through to general wellbeing, cognitive enhancement and improved performance, Max proposes that this neuroscientific technology has the potential to make a significant contribution to global health, resilience and wellbeing. Its digital format means that it can be very quickly delivered anywhere and on any scale, making it a powerful and convenient tool for use in schools, universities, hospitals, workplaces, emergency services or therapeutic practices, or for private use at home. And it can work in perfect synergy with self-development and motivational programs. Importantly, for the many men who find it difficult to reach out when they feel they are not coping, this digital delivery also means that powerful assistance can be available quickly and privately – which is sometimes the best way to get the process of recovery started. 11:15 – 11:50 Masculinity is fundamentally flawed and why it needs to be reframed Wayne Schwass Drawing on a 12 year journey with mental health conditions and his tireless work as a leading mental health advocate, Wayne will discuss his personal experiences and views on the following: • Men don’t cry • Expectations • The toolboxes • Emotionally bankrupt • Shame, guilt, embarrassment & stigma • Masculinity is fundamentally flawed • Asking for help • Authenticity & genuineness, cornerstones to good health & wellbeing • Self awareness, care and acceptance 11:50 – 12:20 Update on Auction Items (sponsors by Helping Hand) TBC 12:25 – 1:30 LUNCH 1:30 – 2:05 Commando For Life Damien Thomlinson Afghanistan veteran and Commando Damien Thomlinson speaks about his life and the Commando ethos. 2:05 – 2:40 The Superior Man Dr Simon Floreani The Thymus gland and its use and function in the modern man for superior focus and concentration in a including a pre recorded distracted world. All too often in our society Men are told to ’stay positive’ or to just ‘keep your chin up’. Men in particular who have been brought up to ‘just deal with it’ are often the ones who just muddle through because everyone in their family (Men) had to ‘deal with it’ themselves. We literally have generations of Men who are emotionally disconnected with themselves, disillusioned with immediate male and female relationships because of their inability to actively look within. Much of this is to do with Inherited thinking (the way GRANDDAD and DAD dealt with hardships) as well as seeming ‘un-mucho’ to other Men talking about looking within themselves. Men can be blind to identifying the difference between helpful traditional family traits and toxic yesteryear fearful thinking practices. Men are exceedingly needing to become ‘mould breakers’ and immediately identify parental traits which have become an unhealthy part of current subconscious beliefs. Our need to IDENTIFY our current negative emotional state, reach for a neutral state, then a positive state, enables a transitional process whereby Men can cognitively understand the step-by-step emotional process whereby we show more love towards themselves and their family. IMD is about Men being in ‘receptive mode’ to better understand themselves. It’s time to state plainly that which we already know – that thousands of years of evolution is leading ‘Men’ to become mindfully and inwardly self-aware. The outcome of identifying unhelpful traits is the beginning of finding the emotional state of understanding which ultimately leads to showing more love and appreciation internally and externally. 4:00 – 4:35 Q&A with Tami and Paul Roos Paul & Tami Roos Paul and Tami Roos will be conducting a Q&A Session to be moderated by Ron Malhotra. BEC BUCCI Bec Bucci the Founder and CEO of Miracle Co, publishing and film production house, began her career working in the family real estate business in Santa Barbara, California some 21 years ago. Daughter of the prominent Wolfe family and property firm, determined to learn the business from the ground up her first day on the job consisted of cleaning

toilets within the companies cleaning division. From humble beginnings she spent the most part of the next biennium dedicated to all things real estate. Head hunted by Iproperty, Bec went on to become the Head of Project Marketing Australasia, running 9 countries across the region facilitating the delivery of notable developments including Capital Grand Melbourne and the Ritz Carlton Perth. In her last year with Iproperty Bec had successfully facilitated in access of $270 million in transacted real estate sales.

Bec’s career success is a shining example of her pure determination to succeed within her chosen field. So what inspired her to create Miracle Co? It’s very simple – love. After leaving an abusive husband she decided to focus her attention on positivity.

Bec is now the International Celebrity Liaisons Manager for Iflix, Ambassador for Iflix in the Global Goals Campaign, founder of RAW – Real Ambitious Women and CEO of Miracle Co that created the “Love the skin you’re in Campaign”. Bec also works with the UN in partnership with the Global Goals under global goal number 3, 5 and 11 along with several NGO’s. Recently and to date Bec has been compiling a documentary “Everyday Heroes” that focuses on the stories of inspirational women from around the globe and their fight for survival. Her upcoming venture THE EMPOWERMENT PROJECT tm aims to bring women back into alignment with what truly makes them happy in a very authentic form within all aspects of their life. In most cases women believe that losing weight or dropping a dress size will make them happy, and while this does occur many struggle to maintain that particular state. Empowering women is really about training the mind to think differently about lifestyle choices, focusing less on the dress size of a women and more on the overall fitness of her body, thinking less about losing kilos and more about building strength and muscle tone, celebrating her spirit in a way that allows her to fully appreciate the imperfect “perfect” woman that she is. This holistic approach to fitness creates an outcome for women on the program to find a happier, healthier and stronger best version of self, allowing women to fully stand within their own beautiful. When you can truly love yourself anything is possible. The Empowerment Projects intention is to give women back their Freedom to be women and in turn men their freedom to be men once again.

PAUL ROOS Paul Roos has earned a much-acclaimed reputation as an AFL player and senior coach. He has also made his mark as a renowned corporate speaker, television host, columnist and author. When Roos placed his hands on the AFL premiership trophy in 2005, it signaled the end of a 72-year drought for the Sydney Swans.

With more than 92,000 fans watching on at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and hundreds of thousands more glued to television screens around the world, this was Roos’ moment of glory.

The 2005 Australian Sports Coach of the Year, former 356-match AFL superstar and Australian Hall of Fame member had just witnessed a nail-biting final quarter in the grand final that saw the Swans come from behind to snatch an historic 58-54 victory over the West Coast Eagles.

The Roos factor in the Swans triumph was generously acknowledged in post-match tributes.

One from Peter Schwab, the former triple Hawthorn premiership player and later the Hawks’ club coach, said it for all. “The greatest strength in Roos’ coaching,” he observed the next day, “appears to be his ability to make a group of players believe that everything is about and for the team”.

In 2006 Roos’ Swans made it to the MCG again on Grand Final Day but were beaten by one point by West Coast. Roos’ true spirit was revealed that day when he accepted the defeat the same way he treated the victory the year before …. the mark of a great sportsman.

Following an outstanding career as a player, Roos answered a call to fill the vacant senior coaching position at the Swans midway through the 2002 season. Full-time assistant coach since 2001, he was subsequently appointed to the club’s senior coaching position for a three year term effective season 2003. Remarkably, he guided the Swans into the play-offs in 2003, his talents acknowledged with his naming as AFL Coach of the Year.

Roos played 87 games for the Swans after joining the Sydney Cricket Ground-headquartered club in 1995 following a star-studded career with the old Fitzroy club – now the Brisbane Lions – including six seasons as captain.

During his career with Fitzroy, he was a member of the Victorian representative team 10 years running, two as captain. He was also named in the All-Australian team on seven occasions, twice as skipper.

An extremely mobile player with expansive marking and kicking skills, Roos was runner-up in the Brownlow Medal – AFL’s highest individual player award – in 1986 after finishing third the year before. He also won the E J Whitten Medal, awarded to the best Victorian player in State of Origin football, in 1985 and 1988.

After standing down as Swans coach, Roos took on the role of coach of the Swans Academy. He has also made his mark as a columnist with News Limited newspapers and as a member of Fox Sports AFL commentary team.

In late 2013, the consistent calls from the Melbourne Demons led to him signing a three year deal with the club, of which he successfully turned around the fortunes of a failing football club.

At the end of 2016, Roos finished with the Melbourne Demons and announced his return to the media, signing deals with FOX Sports and Triple M.

LEON RURI Leon Ruri was born in Huntly, New Zealand in 1976. He grew in a traditional town with his 2 brothers and 2 sisters. In 1994 Leon relocated to Perth, Western Australia in search for new opportunities and a fresh start. A staunch rugby league player Leon by chance met the recruiter for the Western Reds on the Friday of his arrival into Perth and by Monday he was …. to try

out for the team.

After being successfully recruited and after a full season he dislocated his shoulder which halted his professional aspirations until playing in the Metro Cup in Sydney in 1999.

Leon spent most of professional career working in transport and logistics. In 2008 Leon’s marriage of 12 years broke down. During this time Leon struggled with his emotional well being and mental health. Limited contact with his children and feeling totally isolated Leon hit an all time low when he ended up in a refuge house for men in Jandakot and for the first he realised he really was afraid of the dark. Whilst in the house with his family unit remaining in tatters Leon was exposed to many different stories from fellow men coming into the house drawing him out of his depression and suicidal thoughts. This experience inspired Leon to discover a new path for himself in helping other men. He has come a long way since his breakdown and now says he has broken through. Leon shares his story of venerability in a way that men can relate and highlights the need for men to feel safe to communicate their innermost feelings.

Leon is the founder of “Haka For Life” an initiative to raise awareness for men’s mental health and Suicide prevention. In 2017 Leon performed the Haka via live telecast for the first on Anzac Day which to date has had over ten million views online. Leon was recently awarded “The Most Inspiring Male for 2017” at the men in black ball “Momentum Forum Events” for raising awareness on issues relating to men’s mental health and suicide prevention.

WAYNE SCHWASSSince capturing Australia’s attention as one of the most successful football players in AFL history, Wayne Schwass has gone on to make a name for himself in more ways than one.

Born in New Zealand and raised in Warrnambool, Western Victoria, Wayne Schwass began playing Aussie Rules football

at the age of ten. But with his undeniable talent and passion, it was not long before he was recruited to join the AFL – so in 1986, Wayne began playing for the North Melbourne Football Club. From here, Wayne went from strength to strength, quickly becoming one of the most highly-rated players in AFL history. Wayne played 282 games at the elite level for fourteen and a half years, both with the North Melbourne Football Club (1988-1997) and the Sydney Swans (1998-2002).

Since retiring in 2002, Wayne has established himself as a highly respected AFL broadcaster on TV, radio, print and online. However, in addition to his work within the sporting world, Wayne has also become a passionate advocate for mental health awareness.

In 2006, Wayne founded the ‘Sunrise Foundation’, an organisation he created after becoming one of the first AFL players to speak openly about his experience with depression. Though no longer operating, the ‘Sunrise Foundation’ focused on delivering preventative education programs to secondary school students between the years 2007 and 2010. More than 5000 students participated in the foundation’s ‘Headsmart’ program.

Following this, Wayne successfully transitioned into a corporate sales role with Telstra Business Centre Melbourne West, a position he held until April 2017. However, Wayne’s passion for health and wellbeing ultimately drew him back to mental health advocacy – and it was this same passion that led him to create ‘Puka Up’.

Launched in 2017, Puka Up is a social enterprise focusing on mental health, emotional wellbeing and, importantly, suicide prevention. According to Wayne, the PukaUp vision is to ‘create the environments for every person to have authentic and genuine conversations about mental health and emotional wellbeing’. As well as running Puka Up, Wayne also delivers his powerful and honest keynote speeches at countless mental health seminars and workshops, where his message never fails to resonate with audiences.

DAMIEN THOMLINSONDamien’s is a story that continues to evolve and inspire people around the world.
