Based on the results of your Placement Test, you

will be placed in:

◦ 603-101-MA Intro. to College English

◦ 603-101-MB Literature & Composition

◦ 603-101-MC Effective Reading & Writing


A few of you may be required to take Remedial

English 603-001 or 603-003 before taking 603-101.

If you have not taken the English Placement

test yet – the first writing took place in May-

you can still write it in June or August.

You cannot register for English without

having taken the test. Delaying doing so

may delay your graduation.


• Placement is based on high school grades or the

online placement test

• 2 CEGEP-level French courses must be passed

• Students with weak or no French background will

have to complete as many as 3 extra Mise à Niveau

(Preparatory) courses: 602-011, 602-012/112, 602-008.

If you need to take the Test and did not take it in May, the next testing periods are

July and August.

You cannot register for French without having taken the Test. Delaying doing so

may delay your graduation.

For students with a weak or no French background, this is the sequence of courses

to follow:

Humanities courses are general culture courses that pertain to the

human condition. Courses are multidisciplinary in approach and

are divided into three categories:

345-102-MQ (World Views)

Block B

345-HSA/B/C/D (Ethics - Program Related)

courses and will incur failures if you stop

attending classes.

You can make-up for deleted or failed courses by:

•Going to Summer School

•Registering for an Intersession course

•Registering for an extra course - Permission Required

•Staying for one or two additional semesters



To be in good academic standing, full-time

students must pass:

• more than 50% of the courses in which

they are registered

• a minimum of 50% of the program-

specific courses in which they are

registered.


• In some programs, failing the same program-

specific course twice leads to dismissal from the

program.

• In all other programs, failing the same program-

specific course a third time leads to dismissal

from the program.

• The College provides a variety of support

services to help students succeed in their

studies.

Under special circumstance such as:• Could not fit French in schedule

• Missing a program course that should have been

preregistered

• Want a high-school level course (Math/Science)

• Need a Mise-à-Niveau French course

(602-011, 602-005 or 602-009)


Preference Course Change

• You can try to make change(s) to your

schedule. For example, change the time,

day or section of a course, or change one

course for another.

• Takes place Friday-Sunday, January 24-26

• There is a $25 fee per successful change


Course Deletion

Once Preference Course change is over,

schedule changes are no longer possible

but a course can be deleted.
