The objective of the study was to find the root causes of financial frauds including unauthorized deposit schemes floated in various parts of Tamil Nadu and the measures to be taken by regulators to prevent financial frauds in the future. The methodology included primary research in three districts namely Tirupur, Salem and Trichy on four different parameters including socio-economic characteristics, fraudulent schemes, details of loans and financial awareness. After having analyzed the scenario, recommendations were provided to improve financial literacy among different sections of the people including the poor and illiterate.


Nijanthan is a fresher and also an international chess player. He believes that academic knowledge should be supplemented with industry experience. So, he has done live projects with 4 companies, namely Nakasa, Bridgestone, Datacrawl and Aurgurtron, while doing his MBA. His interest lies in plotting strategies, where Nakasa, a bio-fertilizer company was able to implement his rural marketing strategies and attain an increase in sales. § Got 66th place in Asian Junior Chess Championship 2010.
