Other: ___________________________________________________ ACTION • BALANCE • COMMITMENT
Membership growth requires the foundation of Action, Balance and Commitment. Recruiting members to join Exchange is an important task that takes time and work, but the benefits are well worth the effort. It is critical that we grow Exchange, so clubs can continue serving and improving communities across the country. Focus recruiting on people you interact with every day, and use these simple steps to guide your efforts.
Explore Contacts & Take ACTION• When people ask, “what’s new?”, tell
them about the great projects your Exchange Club is working on in the community. Then, ASK them to attend a meeting or an event with you.
• Use social media to keep your friends and family informed about club activities. Post photos of exciting club functions.
• Schedule a speaking engagement about your club with a captive audience at an organized event, such as a town hall meeting.
• Post flyers/posters describing an upcoming Exchange Club event. Submit information for inclusion in local newspapers and newsletters.
Expand Your Club’s BALANCEStrive to represent a wide array of professions in your club. The more professionally-balanced your club is, the more networking benefits and learning opportunities for your members.
• Check the list of occupations in this brochure. Does your club have one member from each of the categories listed?
• Check the local chamber of commerce listing and your social media contacts for possible leads.
Exclaim Your COMMITMENTExchange is important to you. Through your membership you have made a difference in your community.
• Don’t be afraid to tell others about the depth of your commitment to your community through Exchange.
• Wear your lapel pin daily. People will ask about it, giving you an opportunity to begin a conversation about Exchange.
• Get your family involved in Exchange and make community service a part of your family’s routine. Exchange is “Family, Community, Country”.
Explode Your Club’s ImpactAs your recruitment efforts expand, your club will grow in size and impact. Through service with like-minded individuals, members will grow in Exchange and foster a sense of community pride..
