call statistics, and key performance indicators (KPI’s). Optima

remotely located sites. Optima also supports direct connectivity to
third party equipment supporting SNMP via IP, allowing alarm and
measurement collection without the need for additional hardware.
Professional ServicesIntelligent Site Management
Optima applications are driven by both a fault management
engine and a performance metric collection engine. When used
together, Optima manages all critical alarming and KPI details
from the supported device family using assigned network
addresses. All information collected is retained for historical
and trending analysis. These engines provide the data needed
to bundle and deliver critical operations KPIs to billing systems
and systems performance engineering to ensure their network is
operating efficiently.
Optima application interfaces focus on specific management applications for monitoring. Examples include:
• Power (rectifiers and battery management)
• Environmental conditions
• DAS
• Core MSC switching equipment
• Security
• Generator operation
• Fuel

Intelligent Site Management
Optima IntegrationSite installation details provided to Westell will be outlined in a
Statement of Work (SOW). Typical data required from the customer
include: region names, site names, network element names, network
element models, and IP addresses. Customer requirements will also

Westell will remotely verify connectivity to each network element.
Westell does not guarantee connectivity, but we can assist in
troubleshooting exceptions.
