PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION Federal Regulations. Federal regulations require MSU to publicly disclose, for each educational program designed to meet the educational requirements for a specific professional license or certification required for employment in an occupation (or advertised as meeting those requirements), information about whether program completion would meet those requirements in a state. These public disclosure requirements apply to all programs, regardless of their modality (i.e., on‐ground, online, and hybrid programs).1 Table of Professional Licensure and Certification Information. In the table below, MSU discloses information related to the educational requirements for professional licensure and certification. Information is organized by college; then within each college, by department. Column (1) indicates the program name (or the course name, for online and hybrid programs only), as well as the award conferred or recommended by MSU upon completion of the program or course (if applicable); online and hybrid programs are noted with a single asterisk (*). For the programs/courses listed in column (1), columns (3)‐(5) indicate whether or not completion of the course/program would meet the educational requirements for professional licensure/certification indicated in column (2), in each case for the states listed in the respective columns. For these purposes, “state” includes the 50 States of the Union, as well as American Samoa, Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, and Palau. The latter three are referred to collectively as the “Freely Associated States.”
All current and prospective students are encouraged to contact the applicable professional licensure/certification boards in their respective states for additional information regarding professional licensure/certification requirements, including, without limitation, information regarding any non‐educational requirements (such as work experience, background clearance, or examination by outside entities, such as bar examinations). The information below should not be construed as guaranteeing that any particular professional licensure/certification authority will approve a student’s application; nor should the information below be read to imply that other requirements for professional licensure/certification do not exist or that other requirements for professional licensure/certification have been determined to have been met by MSU’s program/course, or that any necessary approvals for clinical or other experiential learning placements are secured by virtue of a student’s enrollment at MSU. State professional licensure/certification requirements are subject to change at any time.
1 In respect of only those courses and programs that involve distance education activity (i.e., online and hybrid programs), the “State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement” in which MSU participates requires MSU to satisfy all federal requirements for disclosures regarding courses or programs designed to lead (or advertised as leading) to professional licensure or certification.
