The "Institute of Nanostructure Technologies and
Analytics“ (INA) is member of the faculty electrical
engineering/computer sciences at the university of
Kassel.
Research is mainly focused on optoelectronic devices,
MEMS technology, micro- and nanotechnology and
cleanroom processing including numerous
cooperations with national and international institutes
and companies. Many projects and results have been
awarded.
The city of Kassel is located in the centre
of Germany. The city has 200,000
inhabitants. Kassel has many palaces,
gardens and castles. Europe´s biggest
mountain park is located in Wilhelmshöhe.
Every five years Kassel is hosts the
documenta, which is worldwide the most
important exhibition of contempory art.
Curently approximately 21,000
students are in Kassel.
Interdisciplinary research is a priority
for the University of Kassel. This
includes research cooperations and
interactions with research institutions
from all over the world.

Class lectures Coachings Exam
Prerequisites for the ONTE Program
• Bachelor degree obtained (accredited university): electrical engineering,
mechanical engineering, chemistry or chemical engineering, physics, nano
sciences, Aerospace or equivalent degree
• previous studies were completely conducted in English or TOEFEL with 80
points or IELTS with 6.0 or better
For entering directly into the first semester of the master course (Case 1), the
applicants should reveal:
• good knowledge in mathematics, semiconductor electronic devices,
semiconductor physics, physics
• basic knowledge in material science and chemistry
In case of students lacking the prerequisites, they are required to do a
Qualification Semester (Case 2)
You may know about a degree program in Optics, Photonics, Electronics & Nano
Technology. However, ONTE is more than just that. We focus on methodology
rather than on facts and hold ourselves accountable for results.
The aim of this extensive and individualized coaching program is to transport the
key competences to the ONTE students that make the difference between
“Engineering” and “Professional Engineering made in Germany”
We help students in
• Knowledge and technology transfer in a results-oriented manner
• Intensive effective professional learning focused on the classroom
• Allowing a student enough time to absorb & put each concept into practice
• Preparing for the exam
• We insure that a student put the concepts into action before the next class
• Exploring their talents & reach a professional level in Optical Nano Technology
• Informative excursions to optics, semiconductor & nano technology industry
• Bridging the knowledge gap between various engineering fields (electrical,
mechanical, chemical, aerospace, Physics) and Optical Nano Technologies
Coaching is customized and focused on providing support to improve the
knowledge, skills, & practices of ONTE students, thus enhancing their
achievement.
