The idea behind RAA is to help promote enquiry-based learning in schools. The
RAA mission was launched by state education Secretary Virendra Kumar and
Director of State council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Mr.
Nagaraj Honnekeri. It was followed by the technical talks for the 8 and 9 grade
students. The speakers for the talks were Mr. Prajyot Mainkar, founder of
ANDROCID Media Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Pranav Pai Vernekar, founder of
Inventron Robotics. The session was about how android software is made and
demonstrated how text messages and calls are sent via android phone. This
exposed the students to core technology.
The quiz session was divided into two rounds, one was the written screening
test conducted in the morning half and the second was the final oral round
hosted by famous Quizmaster Mr. Wilson Vaz. For the quiz, we sent an
invitation to all the 395 high schools across Goa and for the preliminary round
of the quiz, we got an overwhelming response from the schools. Around 1500
students from standard 8th and 9th from different schools across Goa
participated in it which was held on 21 December 2015 in the schools. The
winners of the final round were students of Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya.
