monitor compliance. Pangea easily integrates with talent management and HRIS platforms of all types and can
be expertly configured to be exactly what your organization needs.
Web-Based Background Screening Platform GIS’ web-based background screening platform offers a single-point solution for all your screening needs. By
offering consolidated reporting, 24/7 access and real-time status updates, we enable you to make informed
decisions faster.
Non-Employee Screening GIS offers a web-based screening portal specifically designed for companies that utilize a network of contract
employers, vendors, or franchises with employees that must be cleared for work. By allowing the vendor or
franchisee to pay for his own screening services while allowing you (the sponsor) to keep track of your
approved vendors and franchisees and the statuses of the background checks, we provide your organization the
information you need about your vendors, partners, or contracted employees.

Background Screening Solutions
From instant searches like credit reports and SSN Validations to more
comprehensive screenings like criminal records and verifications,
GIS provides the services you need to build your company’s perfect
screening program. GIS is one of the largest screening companies to
receive accreditation from the NAPBS Background Screening
Credentialing Council.
Adverse Action Packages GIS can distribute Pre-Adverse and Adverse Action letters (plus state-mandated consumer letters where
applicable) to applicants who fail to meet your screening standards. Additionally, GIS will work with consumers
and providers of public records to resolve any disputes over a consumer’s criminal record as part of our
standard process.
Individualized Assessments As part of GIS’ Adverse Action package, we offer an individualized assessment component for compliance
with the EEOC. This gives applicants an opportunity to explain why they should be considered for a
position in spite of an existing record that your organization has flagged as a barrier to employment.
Bankruptcy Reports Our bankruptcy report service will provide details of any bankruptcy associated with an applicant that is
recorded in the specific US District Court. Information returned may include: case or file number, date filed,
type of bankruptcy (Chapter 11, Chapter 7, etc.), discharge date and name(s) listed as petitioners.
Business Screening Services GIS can provide your business with services to screen all potential partners, clients and vendors. These services
can include business credit checks, regulatory searches, bankruptcy records, motor vehicle reports and more.
Civil Suits & Judgments (County and Federal) GIS can provide civil history records to identify high-risk applicants by revealing information about claims, suits
and judgments filed by individuals or corporations against other private parties or corporations at both the
county and federal level. Examples of findings on the county level include product liability suits, violation of civil
rights, judgments, nonpayment of goods and other similar cases; while federal includes interstate commerce,
violation(s) of civil rights, issues involving the Federal government and/or financial institutions.
Credit Reports GIS can obtain a consumer credit report based on an individual’s name, SSN and residential address. The report
typically provides all names and addresses associated with the SSN, as well as information on the highest credit
extended, etc. A summary of public records is also provided and may include tax liens, collection amounts, etc.
Criminal History (County) County criminal searches return information from the courthouse records where the conviction is recorded. If a
felony or misdemeanor charge exists for an individual, the charge is most likely to be filed in county courthouse
records and found using a county criminal history search. Where permitted by law, county criminal searches go
back a minimum of 7 years based on where the applicant has lived or worked and include felonies and
misdemeanors where applicable.
Criminal History (State) A statewide search will yield information for all counties in a given state, useful for discovering crimes outside of
the immediate area in which the subject lives or works. While all counties report to the state level, there can be
instances where a conviction has been recorded at the county level, but not elevated to the state level. In those
instances, you can decide to conduct a county or multi-county criminal history search.

Criminal History (Federal) A federal criminal search is conducted by searching US District Court indices in much the same way as a county
criminal history. Crimes reported in a federal criminal record include only those offenses that are federally
prosecuted (violations of federal law as enforced by the FBI, DEA, ATF) as opposed to those prosecuted under
local and state law. Federal violations will generally not appear in either a county or statewide criminal check
and offenses can include kidnapping, drug trafficking, interstate transportation of stolen goods, bank robbery
and embezzlement.
Education Verification GIS will contact educational institutions to confirm an individual’s education. Information confirmed will include
dates of attendance, degree(s) and/or credential(s) received and if any honors were attached to the degree.
Employment Verification GIS checks previous employers’ records and conducts interviews with past supervisors/Human Resources to
obtain a comprehensive evaluation of work history and capabilities. Information obtained may include, but is
not limited to, dates of employment, job position, reason for leaving and eligibility for rehire. We can use a
standard question base or work with you to customize a question set to use in the process. GIS provides DOT-
compliant and industry-specific employment verifications.
Fingerprinting Fingerprints can be captured and submitted with the traditional ink on hard card method or electronically using
LiveScan digital technology, which has a much higher acceptance rate than ink-rolling. We provide total
program management from establishing locations at which applicants can be fingerprinted to verifying results
with the appropriate agencies.
International Screening GIS offers comprehensive international screening services in any country where data can be legally obtained for
employment screening purposes. These services can include GlobalWatch, Criminal Courts Records Checks,
Police Records Checks, Employment Verifications, Education Verifications, Reference Checks and more.
KwikScreen National Criminal Database GIS’ KwikScreen National Criminal Database is our proprietary database that contains more than 600 million
criminal records from a comprehensive list of sources including county court records, state repositories,
Department of Corrections (DOC), Administrative Office of Courts (AOC), state sex offender registries,
government and terrorist watchlists and more. To maintain FCRA & state compliance, all hits are validated at
the source with identity verification and final disposition status.
Media Searches GIS will conduct a comprehensive search of news and business information sources, including local and national
newspapers, broadcast transcripts, wire services, magazines and trade journals to help identify high-risk
applicants.

Military Verification On your organization’s behalf, GIS will send a written request to the National Personnel Records Center Record
Maintenance Facility requesting an official copy of an individual’s DD214 to verify military record (including
military branch and dates of service).
Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) GIS covers driving records in 50 states plus DC, providing instant results in many states. States differ in the
information provided, but the average history is available for three to seven years, and some court fees may
apply. The information provided in this search can help clients identify applicants with a history of reckless
behavior and may indicate individuals with substance abuse and other behavioral problems.
DOT Driving Records GIS’ DOT Driving Records report will utilize the CDLIS to comply with the FMCSA requirements. The
CDLIS provides up to 3 previously held CDL numbers, and GIS can flag CDLs with less than 5 years
driving history.
Name & Address History Solutions GIS offers a variety of Name and Address History searches that can source past addresses and aliases for
jurisdiction verification and other needs.
National Government & Terrorist Watchlists National security and terrorist watchlists include information about individuals and corporations linked to
terrorism or terrorist activity. Also included are those that have been debarred, denied, sanctioned, or are listed
on exclusion, most wanted, fugitive lists and more. Key sources included OFAC’s Specially Designated Nationals
List, FDA’s Debarment List, OIG’s Exclusion List, OCC’s Enforcement Actions List, SAM’s Excluded Parties List
and lists published by the FBI and the DEA, among others.
National Wants and Warrants This is a nationwide search of active, extraditable Federal and State warrants which may include felonies and
misdemeanors for the requested subject. Where warrant information is identified, GIS will follow up with the
issuing agency to determine additional public record information, including the date of issuance and nature of
the warrant. Please note that not all law enforcement agencies contribute to this database.
OIG (Office of Inspector General) This list provides information relating to parties excluded from participation in the Medicare, Medicaid, and all
Federal healthcare programs. Reasons for exclusion include convictions for program-related fraud and patient
abuse, licensing board actions, and default on Health Education Assistance Loans.
Ongoing Criminal Monitoring With ongoing criminal monitoring, GIS will screen your current employees through our KwikScreen National
Criminal Database on an ongoing basis to confirm the employee’s continued eligibility for employment under
your criminal background policy. This service can only be performed on current employees who have been
previously screened through KwikScreen. In the event there is a new hit found on the employee, GIS will
conduct a verification at the original source of the hit to ensure the record does belong to the individual and to
comply with FCRA and other regulatory guidelines.
Personal & Professional Reference Checks GIS can contact both business and personal references to obtain a more subjective look than provided from the
employment verification. Reference checks can help you confirm personal qualities such as dependability,
integrity, character and work ethic. GIS also provides DOT-specialized reference checks.
Professional License & Certification Verification Based on the information provided by the applicant, we can contact the appropriate state agencies and verify
the type of certification, issuing state or agency and date of issuance and expiration if applicable, as well as
comments, honors, or actions related to the certification.

SAM Excluded Parties List This source, which is included in our KwikScreen National Criminal Database, contains more than 200,000
parties excluded from Federal Procurement and Non-procurement Programs. It identifies those parties excluded
from receiving Federal contracts or certain subcontracts and from certain types of Federal financial and non-
financial assistance and benefits. The source was previously maintained by the GSA.
Sex Offender Registries GIS will search our national records and a specific state’s live repository based on the individual’s applicant
history. We have access to the best SOR data in the industry, with coverage of information from sources in 50
states, plus Guam, Puerto Rico, Indian Reservations and Washington, D.C. with photos in all. Details in the
report include: identifiers, registered addresses, aliases, case numbers, charge(s), conviction details and period
of incarceration.
Social Security Number Validation This service runs inquiries against the Social Security Administration (SSA) format information to determine the
validity, year and state of issuance and any irregularities that may exist. Our validation also checks the SSN
against SSA’s Death Master Index to ensure it is not registered to a person listed as deceased.
Social Security Number Verification This post-hire search verifies SSNs and names solely to ensure the records of current or former employees are
correct for the purpose of completing wage and tax statements.
TransUnion (TU) SSN Trace GIS will run an individual’s SSN through TransUnion’s credit bureau repository, extracting all information
associated with the provided SSN. Sometimes referred to as a credit bureau header report, sources include
financial institutions. In most instances, former address history information reported through the TU SSN Trace
is limited to a maximum of three addresses.
Workers Compensation Indices GIS’ workers’ compensation history check allows you to determine whether an applicant has a previous record
of filing workers’ compensation claims and can indicate specific injuries that may hamper them from performing
certain activities on the job. We will research a state’s repository for information (where available) to include
name, date and types of injury. In addition, many states also provide additional information ranging from the
case/claim number to specific insurance information including name of insurance carrier and payment methods.

Progressive Screening Progressive screening is a cost-saving approach to screening that allows checks to be conducted in stages,
beginning with those that provide instant results and are available at a much lower cost. If an applicant returns
a red flag in the first round of searches, the remaining searches will not be done, saving you the time and cost
of additional reports.
Report Scoring To further simplify our reporting and as an additional level of service to our clients, we offer scoring of reports
based on unique client-defined criteria. Through our online system, results are available in real-time and will be
color-coded and flagged for quick viewing. Scoring is done on each individual screening component and on the
report as a whole.

Drug Screening Services
Drug tests can be scheduled as an independent event or combined with other
types of screening and testing services. Thanks to the eCCF and paperless trail,
each step in the process is automated and viewable in real-time. Plus, as part of
a full drug screening program, we offer MRO review services.
eCup® The eCup is the industry’s only 5-panel electronic urine rapid drug test performed under a tamper-evident seal.
eCup tests are performed at the service location or point-of-care (POC) collection site. The testing process is
performed securely and confidentially under seal in the eReader. It reports a negative eCup urine drug screen
back to the end user via the web within 15 minutes.
xCup® Based on the revolutionary eCup technology, the xCup is an expanded-panel electronic urine rapid drug testing
performed under a tamper-evident seal. It provides all the same benefits of an eCup – secure and confident
POC testing process – but with a quicker turnaround time and a variety of 6- to 10-panel configurations, all
within one cup.
mCup® The mCup is a manually interpreted instant urine drug screen cup device. Test results are visually interpreted
by the collection professional, with any “non-negative” specimens sent to a SAMHSA-certified lab for
confirmation testing. The mCup works well in mobile situations, onsite at the employer’s location or at the POC
facility.
Lab-Based Urine Drug Testing For lab-based urinalysis, the specimen is collected at the POC location, sealed and then shipped to a SAMHSA-
certified lab for the drug screen. It offers expanded panels, with an average turnaround time ranging from 24
to 72 hours.
Oral Fluid Lab-Based Testing GIS offers oral fluid lab-based testing via the Intercept® device. Intercept is designed for observed collection,
which eliminates adulteration, and can detect a 5- to 9-panel range of drugs 1-2 hours after use.
Hair Testing Through hair follicle analysis, we offer the ability to detect drug activity, often as far back as the previous three
months.
Breath Alcohol Testing Breath alcohol testing is frequently used in for-cause screening situations to determine whether an individual
was under the influence during an incident.
Q.E.D.® Saliva Alcohol Test The Q.E.D. Saliva Alcohol Test is a rapid, accurate and quantitative determination of alcohol in saliva. It is FDA
Cleared, DOT-Approved and CLIA-Waived, and provides quantitative results in minutes.

Wellness Services
Wellness Services can be scheduled through an online platform, either as an
independent event or in conjunction with another event. From the initial order
to the collection and the final results, each step is automated and viewable in
real-time.
Anthropometric Size Restrictions (ASR) Clinician performs multiple size measurements, i.e. weight, chest circumference, waist circumference, etc. per
client specific instructions to ensure the employee meets the size requirements for an employer specific vehicle.
Audiogram Audiograms measure a person’s hearing. Most audiograms cover a range 100 Hz to 8000 Hz (8 kHz), which
encompasses the fundamental sounds of speech, plotting the threshold of the individual’s hearing relative to
“normal” hearing.
Cotinine Testing The Oral Fluid Device is a disposable saliva-based nicotine test that tests for cotinine (the primary metabolite of
nicotine). It is simple to administer via oral swab, safely self-contained, and the results, delivered within 10
minutes, are 97.6% accurate.
Chest X-ray/Chest Radiograph A chest X-ray is a projection radiograph of the chest used to diagnose conditions affecting the chest, its
contents, and nearby structures. Chest radiographs are among the most common films taken, serving as a
diagnostic of many conditions. They may be taken in different views depending on the presenting symptoms.
This is a commonly ordered X-ray used to clear a person with a positive PPD/TB skin test.
1 View: 1 view is PA (posteroanterior).
2 View: 2 view is PA/Lateral (posteroanterior/lateral).
Cholestech LDX® System The Cholestech LDX System efficiently tests cholesterol and related lipids, blood glucose and liver enzymes to
serve as diagnostic tools that provide information for immediate risk assessment of heart disease, inflammatory
disorders and diabetes. No special training is required and results are returned in just 15 minutes.
DOT or DOT look-alike Physical Exam These physical exams are performed in accordance with DOT regulations. They include tests on general
appearance, genitourinary system, abdomen and ears and hearing. Exams can be performed using ePhysical®
digital exam software and can use either paper or electronic exam form.
EKG An EKG is used to indicate the overall rhythm of the heart and weaknesses in different parts of the heart
muscle. It works mostly by detecting and amplifying the tiny electrical changes on the skin that are caused
when the heart muscle “depolarizes” during each heartbeat. This movement is detected as tiny rises and falls in
the voltage between two electrodes placed on either side of the heart, which is displayed as a wavy line either
on a screen or on paper.

Height/Weight/Blood Pressure Clinicians measure the specified criteria for wellness program participation and/or employer criteria for specific
job functions. Results are noted in a medical review for adherence to guidelines.
Lift Assessment - Kraus-Weber The Kraus-Weber (K-W) Test of Minimum Muscular Fitness has six components. This test measures several
large muscle groups for flexibility and strength. The higher the degree of test rating, the greater presumably
the muscular function of the body.
OSHA Respirator Questionnaire When OSHA requires a respirator, the employee must fill out a questionnaire as part of the medical evaluation
to determine if the employee is physically/psychologically able to wear a respirator. The questionnaire content
is mandated by the OSHA respiratory protection standard and must be reviewed by a Physician or Licensed
Health Care Professional (PLHCP). Based on the questionnaire responses, the PLHCP may require additional
testing including a physical exam, chest X-ray, EKG or pulmonary function test (PFT), to clear an employee for
respirator use.
Pulmonary Function Test/Spirometry Pulmonary function tests measure how well the lungs take in and release air and how well they move gases
(e.g. oxygen) into the body’s circulation. For some of the test measurements, you can breathe normally and
quietly. Other tests require forced inhalation or exhalation after a deep breath.
Respirator Fit Test - Qualitative The qualitative test is a pass/fail test relying on the subject’s voluntary or involuntary response to a challenge
agent; i.e., taste, smell, or irritation. This test is suitable when workers will wear a respirator with a fit factor
less than 10,000.
Respirator Fit Test - Quantitative The quantitative respirator fit test measures the challenge agent leakage into the respirator without
dependence on a test subject’s voluntary or involuntary response to the challenge agent. The instrumentation is
typically capable of measuring fit factors of 10,000 and higher. Respirators that require a fit factor above 100
must be fit tested using the quantitative (QNFT) test method.
Vaccine/Titers
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis A vaccine is a vaccine used to prevent from an infection with the hepatitis A virus. Two doses of
the vaccine, given at least six months apart, are needed for lasting protection.
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B vaccine is a vaccine used to prevent from an infection with the hepatitis B virus. This
immunization vaccine is administered in a series of three vaccines, with the second dose given 4 weeks
after the first and the third dose 5 months after the second.
Hepatitis A/B Combination
This vaccine is a combination of the both the Hepatitis A vaccine and the Hepatitis B vaccine. It is
administered in the same manner as the Hepatitis B vaccine in a series of three vaccines, with the second
dose given 4 weeks after the first and the third dose 5 months after the second.

MMR
The MMR vaccine is an immunization shot against measles, mumps and rubella (also called
German measles).
TB Testing
GIS can test to determine if someone has developed an immune response to the bacterium that causes
TB. This can be a 1- or 2-step testing process.
Tdap
Tdap vaccine can protect adolescents and adults from tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. Tdap is especially
important for health care professionals and anyone having close contact with a baby younger than 12
months.
A similar vaccine, called Td, protects from tetanus and diphtheria, but not pertussis. A Td booster should
be given every 10 years. Tdap may be given as one of these boosters if you have not already gotten a
dose.
Varicella
The varicella vaccine is a live (attenuated) vaccine that protects against the viral disease commonly known
as chickenpox, Herpes zoster, and Postherpetic neuralgia. A larger-than-normal dose can be given to
protect against shingles.
Vision Tests
Ishihara
The Ishihara Color Test measures red-green color deficiencies. The test consists of a number of colored
plates, called Ishihara plates, each of which contains dots appearing randomized in color and size. Within
the pattern, the dots form a number visible to those with normal color vision and invisible, or difficult to
see, for those with a red-green color vision defect.
Jaeger
Jaeger’s vision test uses printed letters of different sizes to test the acuity of near vision.
Snellan
The Snellen test uses a traditional Snellen chart, printed with eleven lines of block letters. The first line
consists of one very large letter, which may be one of several letters, for example E, H, or N. Subsequent
rows have increasing numbers of letters that decrease in size. A person taking the test covers one eye, and
reads aloud the letters of each row, beginning at the top. The smallest row that can be read accurately
indicates the visual acuity in that eye.
Titmus
The Titmus Vision Screener tests for Acuity (Near-14 inches and Far-20 feet), Depth Perception,
Color Perception, Muscle Balance (Lateral and Vertical Phoria), Horizontal Visual Fields (Peripheral vision of
130 degrees in each eye) in one lightweight, compact and easy-to-use instrument. The Titmus Vision
Screener can also screen for visual acuity at Intermediate Distances (40, 32, 26, 22 and 19 inches).
