Whilst worldwide famous marathons in Boston, Berlin, Chicago or New York are cancelled, EventPal organized the Ali Mountain Cloud Run, a 42, 21,10, and 5K race on 9 May 2021 in Taiwan.
Taking place at Ali Mountain, this running event is well known for its spec-tacular views of cloud sea, unforgettable sunrise and ancient forests. Now, it is also popular for being one of the few places to organize a run-ning event in a time of surging Coronavirus.
Ali Mountain Cloud Run gathered more than 2,500 participants
One of the major challenges being faced by sport events organizers is finding a reliable method to prevent the spread of COVID 19 safely, efficiently and with an extraordinary level of precision.
Fortunately, the organizers of Ali Mountain Cloud Run can share some valuable advice. The strict policy measures implemented against the impact of the coronavirus provided participants peace of mind when entering the event.
Firstly, all participants had to fulfill a complete health questionnaire and declare if they have been travelling abroad, where they have been, and if they had any symptoms of fever or respiratory infections in the last 21 days.
Secondly, they had to wear a mask when entering the venue, use the hand sanitiser stations available at the event, and keep the mandatory social distance.
Last but not least, participants were not able to run with a bodytemperature of 37.5℃ or higher. The event’s organizers prioritizedsafety and set up a screening system to ensure that all the registered runners had no fever symptoms.
How MASTECH helped
MASTECH worked very closely with the organizers of Ali Mountain Cloud Run to create a race that was safe. More than 2,600 were asked to check their temperatures in a very short period of time.
The MS6592P non contact infrared thermometer was the best choice for this task. The volunteers could use this portable, small and light device to check the body temperature of the runners at the entry tothe packet pick-up. The MS6592P measures temperature between 32℃~42℃/89℉~108℉ with a resolution of 0.1℃/0.1℉ providing very accurate responses in one second. If the temperature was above 37.5℃, the entry was denied. Fortunately, nobody had a fever and all the runners could join the race.
