INTRODUCTIONWESTLINE are a long established company supplying the

construction, engineering and building industries. A family

company, Westline was established in 1987, celebrating our

30th anniversary in 2017.

We supply and fit stunning stairs and beautiful balconies along with

balustrade and associated products in steel, oak, stainless steel and

glass. Our aim is to help our customers complete the home of their

dreams with a staircase or balcony made specifically for them.

We have centrally located depots in Co. Durham and Nottingham very close to major

transport routes for ease of service for our clients. We are proud to provide our

fabrication service to the likes of Sir Robert McAlpine and Nissan.

We are proud to provide our lintels and builders steelwork to the likes of Bellway

and Avant Homes. We also provide fasteners into some of the largest rail and road

projects, as well as some of the smaller fabrication companies.

A Part of our Floating Style staircase range. Zig-zag steel stringers, powder coated to a colour of choice. Solid oak treads that are rebated to the rear to allow for riser glass panels. Frameless glass balustrade that aesthetically follows the lines of the stringers.

B Another stair from our Floating Style. This stair has glass treads and mid-landing.

C Our Rundle style staircase, comprised of steel box section stringers, powder coated to a colour of choice and 32mm thick solid oak treads. Satin polished stainless steel and glass balustrade with matching stainless steel handrail.

D Our York style closed tread staircase. Stringers fully clad in oak with frameless style glass balustrades and oak handrail.

E Barton Style staircase. The carcass of the stair is steel to give the required strength to achieve the floating look. The balustrade being side fixed satin polished stainless steel posts with glass infill and matching oak handrails.

F A closed tread using zig-zag steel stringers, fully clad in oak. This staircase has frameless glass balustrade with matching oak handrail, inset from the glass.

K This was a refurbishment staircase. The old and tired timber spindles were removed and replaced with a modern smoked-black frameless glass balustrade with cranked satin, polished stainless handrail, inset from the glass.

Harrison style balustrade, comprising satin polished stainless steel, top fixed posts with brackets to house the glass. To soften up the look, we have used an oak handrail in place of the stainless steel.

Frameless glass balustrade, fastened only to the base of the glass panels using satin polished stainless steel disc-button clamps. We have added a solid mahogany handrail, inset from the glass.

Harrison style balustrade, comprising satin polished stainless steel, top fixed posts with brackets to house the glass. To soften the look, we have again used an oak handrail in place of the stainless steel.

Our Rundle balustrade, comprised of satin polished stainless steel and glass balustrade with matching stainless steel handrail. This photograph shows the complexity of the handrail, with seamless swan-neck joints to give a continuous handrail, without breaks.

We work with our clients to provide innovative and

attractive solutions.

A Our Frameless Glass Juliet balcony. This gives unobstructed views from your living space and the system is fully compliant with building regulations. The toughened laminate glass panel is fastened only at its ends by grade 316 (external grade) stainless steel button-clamps. This style of Juliet also acts as a very good wind break.

B Cantilevered steel frame balcony. The frame is hot dipped galvanised and powder coated to a colour of choice. The balustrade is our frameless style, fastened to the steel base with grade 316 (external grade) stainless steel button-clamps.

C Steel frame with steel support post balcony. The steel frame is fastened back to existing masonry, with the free end having a post down to the ground below. The frame and post are hot dipped galvanised and powder coated to a colour of choice. The balustrade is our frameless style, fastened to the steel base with grade 316 (external grade) stainless steel button-clamps. This design has a slotted, grade 316, satin polished handrail.

D We created a neat space from a dormer style window to create a small balcony terrace space. A French style door and decking area was introduced. Westline then supplied and installed the glass and stainless balustrade to the space.

E This was a large project with over 50m of our frameless style balustrade, the steel frame and support posts being galvanised and powder coated to a colour of choice. The steel frame not only supported wooden decking, but also supported the frameless style balustrade.

F This is one of our galvanised and powder coated mild steel walk-out balconies, having supporting posts going down to the ground. We have several alternative designs of mild steel/wrought iron work.

We were asked to come up with a glass bridge design over a sunken sun terrace below the front entrance. The design has box section frames to form the ring-beams around the full opening, spanning the bridge walkway and side balcony supports. These box section frames are galvanised and powder coated to a colour of choice and fabricated to house the frameless glass balustrades and glass flooring panels. The glass flooring panels have a sandblasted finish to give a translucent look.

This image shows the view from the sunken sun terrace with views up through the glass floor and also shows off the frameless style glass balustrades.

This internal top hung sliding glass door, was designed to provide a view through the entire property and out into the garden.

A External staircase with mild steel flat bar stringers, support posts, bracings and mild steel balustrade all galvanised and powder coated to a colour of choice. The treads and landing are in open mesh and have a galvanised finish. We can also supply the treads in a punch pattern or durbar material.

B Balconies to an apartment block in galvanised steel with glass balustrade and timber top rail. This design incorporates the supporting steel columns.

C A similar design to ‘A’ above, which includes braced supports to the landing. Treads are galvanised open mesh steel.

D Traditional wrought iron style balconies, galvanised and powder coated black to provide a stylish and durable finish.

E Juliet style balconies to a housing development give a modern take on traditional architecture. Again, galvanised and powder coated to give years of maintenance free service.

F A simple access staircase with landing in galvanised steel.

G This galvanised and painted steel walkway structure provides access and balcony space to a large development of apartments.
