GES VAWT BENEFITS
qr5 rotor maximises output in turbulent conditions as it can use wind from all directions unlike traditional horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWTs) which need to track the wind
A VAWT (for the same swept area) has a smaller plan area than a HAWT making it more space efficient - an important consideration when siting on or close to buildings. The helically swept blades help distribute loads evenly, resulting in minimal vibration thus making the qr5 a better option for roofmounts
ACOUSTICS
The aerodynamic helical blade design results in very smooth, quiet operation
Various aspects of the vertical axis turbine design, including the low tip speed ratio, further reduce noise levels. In most instances the qr5 is quieter than background noise levels across its operating ranges

A three-phase grid connection is required – please note we do not currently offer a single phase or an off-grid/battery version
Included as part of the Control Electronics Panel is a turbine controller, inverter, Ofgem approved electricity meter and protection relay for grid connection
A single qr5 can be grid connected with a notification to the electricity supplier (G83). Multiple qr5s may require prior approval (G59) - applications to the electricity supplier can be completed by quietrevolution

CONTROL ELECTRONICS
The Control Electronics Panel measures 800mm wide by 1200mm tall by 450mm deep - this can be housed in a plant room or weatherproof enclosure
