LCR - Outbound Routing

Sophisticated call routing tables allow the lowest cost route to be pre-selected:

Calls are connected to a specific service by dialing a prefix code that identifies the server

Voice Service Continuity

Calls made through the edgeBOX can be connected using any available service provider:

For all calls, Telephone Number Mapping (ENUM) can be used to search for SIP registered numbers, if no number found, PSTN is used instead

If either IP or PSTN network fails, calls are transparently routed through the alternative network

WAN and LAN connectivity

edgeBOX has a build-in static router that transparently handles traffic between WAN, WLAN, LAN and DMZ.

Support for ADSL, Ethernet and 3G for WAN connectivity.

Provides DHCP, NAT, DNS, DynVLANs, and related services on the LAN interface

Tightly coupled integration with WiFi and IP-PBX simplifies configuration and deployment of all network services.


Network Access Control (NAC)

edgeBOX provides NAC functionality designed for SMB requirements

Controls access to the network based on User Access profile including time of the day , IP, MAC, interface and guest parameters

Enforces user authentication and access policies through captive portal or 802.1x mechanism

Authentication can be performed locally or through remote RADIUS, LDAP or Active Directory servers.


Security

Full fledge security including Statefull Firewall, VPN (IPSEC, L2TP, PPTP), anti-spam, antivirus and web content filtering functionality

Authentication at the firewall allows tight control over user activity in the network (who, when, what).

Configurable multiple antivirus engine options (McAfee, Sophos, ClamAV) to scan email and file storage.


WiFi Access Point and Controller

edgeBOX provides embedded WiFi Access Point.

edgeBOX can operate as embedded Access Point (AP) or can be configured as AP Controller providing authentication for external Aps

WiFi capabilities can be combined with VoIP-IP-PBX to allow integrated and easy-to-setup WiFi VoIP phone access.


Bandwidth Management (QoS)

edgeBOX QoS features include Inbound and Outbound Quality of Service (QoS) support, allowing for effective prioritisation of services, including VoIP where QoS is vital to ensure business quality calls.

Custom QoS pipes support guarantees traffic bandwidth in the event of congestion with DiffServ functionality that enables the effective establishment of differentiated services and Service Level Agreements (SLA).


Storage, Print, and Backup

edgeBOX can be used as NAS (Network Attached Storage) appliance with scalable storage capacity and RAID capabilities.

CIFS (Common Internet File System) support allows seamless file/data sharing, with options of setting disk quotas and configuring automatic backup to the Data Center or local drives.

edgeBOX provides transparent shared printer services for standard USB printers.


Collaboration
