Wirquin Manufaturing SA is part of the global Wirquin Group. A family business founded in 1977 by Daniel Le Coënt, WIRQUIN manufactures sanitaryware products and accessories for the bathroom, toilet and kitchen.

The company has grown steadily over the years. In 2016 Wirquin achieved a turnover of more than 150 million Euros. This is generated by numerous talents driven by their corporate values: team spirit, respect, sharing and performance. Always at the forefront of innovation, the group designs up to 15 new products a year making life easier for the end user, helping installers to be more professional and improving stock rotation for the distributors. To achieve this, the Group invests 5% of its annual turnover into Research and Development. Wirquin started in South Africa as an importer in 1998 and the subsidiary was formed in 2004. In 2007 Wirquin opened a factory in Somerset East and since as more than doubled in size.

MINIMUM OVERFLOW FLOW RATE : in the event of continous filling of the cistern, the overflow ensures the full discharge of water into the bowl without the cistern overflowing (safety for water damage).

EFFORT TO FLUSH < 2 kg. ENDURANCE : 200 000 cycles minimum. VALVE WASHER. FLOW RATE ≥ 2,2 L/s in full flush and 2,5 L/s in half flush.

ANTI WATER HAMMER closure. RESISTANCE : functions from 0,5 to 10 bars. ANTI-SIPHONING : guarantees no-return of cistern water to potable

water of the house. ENDURANCE : 200 000 cycles minimum. ACOUSTICS (class 1 : less than 20 decibels, class 2 < 20 to 30 decibels). FILL RATE : 3 L/min at 0,5 bar. Minimum flow at 3 bars is 12 L/min.

What is a WRAS Approval:

Any water fitting, which when installed, will carry or receive water from the public mains water supply in the UK, must comply with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations or Scottish Byelaws. These require that a water fitting should not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the water supply and must be ‘of an appropriate quality and standard’.

This type of approval demonstrates compliance with requirements of the regulations and byelaws, provided the fitting is installed according to any conditions given with the approval.
