Reduce the inlet air temperatures of a system below outdoor ambient by 5° to 25°F with Natural Cooling. Evaporative cooling systems use chilled air to lower a building's temperature; improving productivity, lowering operating costs, and benefiting the environment

Natural Heat & Smoke Control devices allow for the ventilation of smoke and hot air during a fire. These devices have quick release mechanisms that are activated during a fire. Additionally, many of these products are dual purpose and can also be used for natural building ventilation.

Its base design is Galvalume® construction with optional fluoropolymer coatings. A natural daylight feature is also available.

The Moffitt Firex™ automatic heat and smoke ventilator is a life-safety device designed to naturally exhaust heat and smoke during a fire. Unlike other Moffitt products the Firex is not used for general ventilation. Most of the FX250 line is UL listed and FM Approved. Construction Specifications (CSI) 3 Part & 10 Part Specifications are availableThe Firex™ is typically made of galvanized steel but optional aluminum construction is also available. The lids are made of poly carbonate material that allows for light entrance and daylighting. Aluminum lids are available if daylighting is not required.

Note: only aluminum lids are FM Approved.

Each unit ships fully assembled for quick rooftop installation.

The Apollo is designed for commercial and industrial applications. Similar natural ventilation / daylighting fire-safety units have been in service for over 40 years throughout the world. Each Apollo provides day-to-day ventilation and natural daylighting. When the lids are open it is a highly efficient, low cost natural ventilation device. When they lids closed it is a weather-tight daylighting device.

The FCO natural intake /daylighting louver is designed with translucent blades to act both as an airflow device and a daylighting device. It is normally used for air intake, but can be used as an exhaust device.

The louver frames are constructed of lightweight and corrosion resistant aluminum. The louver is normally electrically actuated, but can be manual or pneumatic. Each unit ships in factory assembled, maximum panel sizes.

It lets in fresh air and natural light into the building when open. When the door is closed it still provides ample daylighting through its translucent panels.An extruded aluminum framework houses light-permeating poly-carbonate panels. The PressureStream is designed for commercial and industrial applications. It can be utilized for intake air, as part of a Pressure Gravity System®, but also as part of an exhaust system or make-up air unit.The propeller blades are fiber reinforced thermoplastic in an airfoil shape for maximum efficiency. The propeller hubs are made from high-strength die cast aluminum. The housings are manufactured of galvanized steel.

Ventilation Design

At Moffitt, we design ventilation systems for all types of facilities. From distribution centers and warehouses to steel mills and power plants, there is no ventilation solution we can’t find.

We work hand-in-hand with engineers, builders, contractors, and building managers to help design the best ventilation system for each project. We develop systems for both new construction and retrofitted projects and whenever possible, we use natural ventilation designs.

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models allow us to see the air-flows and energy transfers within a building. With the input heat sources and openings the software provides data on the interior air-flow and shows temperatures at different elevations throughout the single building.
