Position Summary: Performs duties involving t ruck chassis design for al l models. Ensure completed product complies with state regulations (DOT) including compliance with height, width, length, and weight restrictions. Works with designers and drafters to ensure successful drawings and documentation completion. Assists Sales in estimating and truck desi gn as it relates to new or specific requirements. Assists production and test departments in solving  problems related to truck chassis. Requirements: B. Position Summary:

Performs duties involving truck chassis design for all models. Ensure completed product

complies with state regulations (DOT) including compliance with height, width, length,and weight restrictions. Works with designers and drafters to ensure successful drawings

and documentation completion. Assists Sales in estimating and truck design as it relates

to new or specific requirements. Assists production and test departments in solving problems related to truck chassis.

Requirements:• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education

• Experience with truck and/or automotive chassis, drive train and electrical

systems.

• Knowledge of chassis federal and state regulations (State DOT regulations)• 5+ years of related engineering experience.

• Strong mechanical aptitude. Know how to use tools.

• High level of analytical ability in engineering field.

• Good creative problem solving abilities.• Skilled in design of machines and weldments.

• Machining, welding and material selection experience.• Class A Drivers License (highly desired though not required)

• Good knowledge of engineering drawing systems and standards.

• 3D CAD skills as well as AutoCad. Solid Edge experience a plus.• Social skills to work with customers and vendors.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Good knowledge of electrical systems (automotive).

• Know how to use Digital Volt/Ohm meter.

Essential Job Functions:• Ensure each truck mounted concrete pump complies with the DOT regulations for the specific area of operation.

• Ability to design unique chassis configurations that can be realized with no

compromise to the safe and legal operation of the completed product.• Develop and maintain lowest cost, most reliable truck chassis specification that

 best accommodates manufacturing installation process.

• Create “quote” drawings for sales showing weights and axle spacing that will

conform to the customer’s area of operation.• Contribute to the training and educational needs of field personnel – both Sales

and Service.

• Work with Engineering to develop and maintain up-to-date library of currentweight and length laws. Incorporate a quick reference guide for use in Sales Price and

Specifications Book.

• Communicate with states and provinces on a regular basis to update and maintainweight and length law book.

• Travel to customers to resolve various issues regarding trucks as required.

• Travel to state and province D.O.T.’s to resolve various issues regarding weight

and length laws as required.

• Work with the production department on a daily basis, dealing with unique

 problems and issues related to mating the BPL/KVM unit to the carrier chassis.

• Perform Engineering design work, from simple designing of brackets, fenders,etc; to more complicated weldments and major structural designs in the weldments

related to the carrier chassis.

• Approve carrier chassis upon arrival and inspection, for production. Specifymodifications, if necessary, that production must implement before mounting BPL/KVM

unit on carrier chassis.
