The Moulding Specialists

Annandale Timber & Moulding Co was

established in 1931 and has recently moved

to modern premises at Wetherill Park. The

Company specialises in the manufacture of

timber mouldings and the supply of joinery

grade timbers.

We have an extensive range of stock

mouldings and are leaders in the manufacture

of timber mouldings to match customer’s

samples or drawings.

01Stock Mouldings

Annandale Timber has a stock range of some 150 mouldings. These

mouldings are available from stock, mostly in finger-jointed Australian

Araucaria from chain of custody, renewable, Australian plantation sources.

These finger-jointed timbers produce a stable finished product, clear of

knots, which is ideal for painting with little or no preparation needed.

For polished or stained finishes, mouldings from the stock range will be

run to order in the timber of your choice, subject to minimum order levels.

If you cannot find the moulding you need in our stock range we will be

happy to quote on producing your special moulding.

Mouldings to Order

Annandale Timber is a leader in the manufacture of mouldings to

customer specifications or to match existing mouldings.

All cutters for special mouldings are retained which allows us, in

many cases, to match your special moulds without the additional

cost of producing new cutters.

“Over 1400 sets of cutters to choose from.”

dressed or for supply as mouldings.

The classic “lamb’s tongue” or Ogee style shown here whilst popularly referred to as “Colonial” in fact belongs to the mid-Victorian era.

These skirtings are normally combined with matching architraves nos. AR-19 or AR-4019 or with any of the late-Victorian architraves shown on page 4.

Skirting nos. 6026 and 5024 and matching architraves combine aspects of Victorian and Colonial Design and form an atttractive combination where smaller mouldings are required.

Other skirting designs shown here, together with those shown on page 4 are from the late-Victorian era.

The “Federation” or “Edwardian” period produced these attractive skirting and architrave designs.

Chair rails and picture rails were also a feature of homes of this era.

Federation

04 stock mouldingsFederation | Skirting + Architraves

Post Federation | Skirting + Architraves

Mouldings shown here were common in the period between the two World Wars when the ornate Victorian and Federation designs gave way to much simpler styles.

After World War II, much smaller mouldings were generally used. More recently, stylish new profiles featured on our “Contemporary” page have become increasingly popular.

The Art Deco influence is particularly noticeable in SK-332 and matching architraves.

This range of skirting and architraves together with corner blocks and dado rail provide a bold alternative to the more traditional styles in our range. These architraves should be used with Skirting Blocks or Plinths to at least the height of the skirting.

The unique “Classic” and “Fineline” ranges of contemporary mouldings provide an elegant and imaginative addition to our range.

When using reversible skirting, the unwanted profile is hidden against the wall as shown above.

Inlay and Bolection Moulds are used to frame inset panels on doors, walls and cabinets.

Inlay moulds sit within the recess whereas bolection moulds generally extend above the recess. These moulds can also be planted on flat surfaces to create mock panels.

Chair rails are used to protect walls against damage from chair backs and are placed at an appropriate height.

Dado moulds are intended for use as a border between different wall finishes as, for instance, where the lower part of a wall is timber panelled or wallpapered and the upper part is painted.

Mouldings shown on this page can be used in other applications where a decorative mould is needed.

Cornices

Three of our stock cornices are produced with solid, square backs whilst the remainder have cut-away backs in order to keep the cost down.

Solid cornices can, in addition to being used as conventional cornices, be used as capitals where they are fixed on the vertical surface only.

Cut away cornices need to be fixed to both the vertical and horizontal surfaces.

Crown MouldsCrown moulds are designed for use on the top of cabinets where there is insufficient freize height to attach a mould.

They are supplied in two pieces, the anchor piece is fixed to the top of the cabinet and the decorative mould attaches to the anchor piece.
