27General information
General information
The current version of the General Terms and Conditions of SEIKO Optical Europe GmbH shall prevail unless stipulated otherwise.
CE MarkingsThe CE mark became mandatory on all medical devices under the MD Directive on 13th June 1998. All Starvision products in this catalogue are CE marked in compliance with the MDD. Although no CE mark is required on the lenses, there are requirements related to packaging and labelling documentation. Lenses must be placed in a standard envelope showing the CE mark with the name and address of the manufacturer. They must also be accompanied by the appropriate paperwork to identify the product (copy order or invoice).
OpticiansSubsequent treatments of the spectacle lens carried out by the opticians discharges the manufacturer from liability. It is the optician’s responsibility to inform customers about the correct use of the spectacle lenses and to specify restrictions of use. For example, instructions on how to care for the lenses, specific features of progressive lenses and how to accom-modate to them, information on suitability for driving particularly at night and features of custom-made lenses.
Producers of spectacle lensesAll information on the proper use of lens products and the restrictions stipulated by CEN standards are made public. All relevant information can be found in this catalogue, in product brochures, on delivery notes and in other publications.
WarrantyThe warranty period for Starvision products is 24 months.
This guarantee does not cover damage to the lens surface due to improper treatment.
Complaints can be accepted based on incorrect delivery, quantity variance and material defects in compliance with DIN EN ISO 8980-1 to -3 and DIN EN ISO 14889 only. Returned goods can only be accepted if the number of the delivery note is included. If single lenses are replaced, the tint colour or anti-reflection reflex match cannot be guaranteed and any variance in this respect does not constitute a material defect. It is recommended to reorder a pair.
