LIZARDMEN

Warhammer Armies Lizardmen is a 104-page stand-alone book detailing the most ancient army in theWarhammer game.

This incarnation of Warhammer Armies Lizardmen ismore aggressive than before: they are not just sitting inLustria waiting to be invaded by treasure-hunters, butactively enacting the Great Plan of the Old Ones acrossthe world!

The Cold Blooded special rule allows all models in thearmy to take Leadership tests on 3D6 and use the twolowest scores. Combined with a high Leadership scoreon many units, this makes the Lizardmen resolute indefence and untroubled by many other armiespsychological special rules.

The armys Core units are Saurus Warriors, withToughness 4, 2 Attacks and a 3+ armour saving throw incombat, and cheaper units of Skinks. This allows forarmies built around blocks of ferocious, well-protectedfighters, or masses of Skinks with poisoned weaponssupported by monstrous Kroxigor.

One of the Lizardmen armys distinctive features is thechoice of dinosaur-like monstrous creatures, and thereare plenty to choose from in the list. The new Stegadonplastic boxed set will likely form the centrepiece ofmany collections, but the Carnosaur and new Razordonwill also find their place in many collections. Most boysloved dinosaurs in their youth - capture that excitementin your customers with this army release!

The army list includes nine special characters, includingmodels in the range such as Tehenhauin, Kroq-Gar andVenerable Lord Kroak, classic favourites like LordMazdamundi, and new releases including the EternityWarden Chakax.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF WARHAMMER ARMIES LIZARDMEN

The two plastic boxed sets released this month brings the total number of Lizardmen plastic kits to five, making all-plasticLizardmen armies possible for the first time. The Stegadon boxed set includes plastic components to build a Skink Priest and aSkink Chieftain, providing plastic Lizardmen Hero models for the first time

The Slann Mage-Priests of the Lizardmen army are the most powerful magic users in the Warhammer game. Any player whoenjoys the Magic phase will be able to take their spellcasting to new levels with the updated Slann Mage-Priest rules!

Promoting the Lizardmen can also help to promote other recent Warhammer armies and, in turn, the Warhammer game system;they have fought the Daemons and Warriors of Chaos since the beginning of Time, and their realm of Lustria is situated close tothe lands of the High Elves and Dark Elves. Running battles between any of these forces and the Lizardmen is perfectlysupported by the background and helps to promote the entire Warhammer game system

As the oldest race in the Warhammer world, the Lizardmen army book contains a detailed timeline of their actions that involvesmost other races in the game

Games set in the jungle realms of Lustria deserve suitably atmospheric terrain, catered for by a number of products in GamesWorkshops scenery offer. The Warhammer 40,000 Trees provide easy plastic tropical trees, while the Warhammer Arcane Ruincan be used as the basis of an ancient Lizardmen monument. The Jungle Plants set is also being brought back on sale toaccompany the Lizardmen release, allowing customers to pick up even more ready-to-use jungle scenery

The combination of tough, well-armoured warriors and masses of lightskirmishers - commanded by the best Wizards in the game - makes theLizardmen versatile and difficult to fight. The best fighters in the army are well-armoured and tough, but not very fast - they can be picked off before the armiesclose with shooting weapons that modify or even ignore armour saving throws,and in close combat by high Strength attacks that can cut Saurus Warriors downbefore they strike back. Just dont try to blast them away with magic or rely onFear and Terror to drive them back to the jungle!

Know Your Foe

The ensorcelled weapons andlances of the Chaos Knights areperfect to rip through scaly skin,and their Chaos armour will protectthem from even the most savagereturn attacks

Ranged weapons such ascrossbows and handguns, with theadvantages of range, Strength andarmour piercing, can whittle downthe Lizardmen ranks at a distance

War machines are great for wipingout whole ranks of resilientLizardmen at a time - scaly skincounts for nothing when no armoursave throws may be taken!

Saurus Warriors are now cheaper than before, better-armoured and more powerful in close combat (with their additional biteattack replaced by 2 Attacks as standard on their profile). These units are the backbone of the army, providing a solid,dependable core of ferocious warriors supplemented by monstrous creatures and poweful sorcery

Skink units are also cheaper, meaning that more of these skirmishing units can be bought to support the flanks of theLizardman advance. Skinks can also now be bought as ranked-up units with command groups, allowing players to build theirarmies around units of Skinks and replicate the Red Host of Tehenhauin army list from Warhammer Realms Lustria
