PROJECT BACKGROUND

The Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas required a complete architectural and design transformation to capitalize on this property’s exceptional location. The 20-year-old resort has now been split into two hotels: Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas. With the addition of several world class restaurants, including a premier steakhouse named Bavette’s, Park MGM and NoMad is now a top culinary destination in Vegas. Its design firm, Martin Brudnizki Design Studio (MBDS) is a world leader in creating premier hospitality destinations.

CHALLENGE

• Reinvent an existing restaurant space within the Monte Carlo Resort into a premier steakhouse. • Install a one of a kind, floor design at the venue’s entrance ensuring it naturally linked to the main dining

space floor area to accentuate the luxurious finishes selected for the restaurant. • Repair and flatten the existing concrete slab surface before installation of all flooring that was custom

fabricated by Oshkosh Designs and Delta Hardwood Flooring.• Meet compressed construction timelines to ensure a timely opening.

SOLUTION

• The 550 sq ft entrance area’s hardwood floor design was custom fabricated by Oshkosh Designs. The floor was shipped in modular sections reducing installation time of this award winning, one of a kind design.

• The 5,000 sq ft dining space, consisting of over 25,000 individual planks, utilized Eagle Bay’s Frank Lloyd Wright Collection American Oak manufactured by Delta Hardwood Flooring. It was installed in a stunning, custom, herringbone pattern and fabricated onsite by MasterCraft Flooring, one of MGM’s premier vendor partners.

• Bostik SL-175™ Self Leveling Underlayment and Wear Layer along with Universal Primer™ Pro were used to restore the existing concrete slab to a perfectly flat surface.

• Bostik’s proprietary AXIOS® Tri-linking™ Polymer Technology with Thickness Control™ Spacers was selected because of its tenacious bond strength, superior moisture control properties, ease of installation and clean up.
