• Registration opens on the 1st June 2015.• Parents can register online www.kent.gov.uk/ola • Parents can fill out a paper form and return it
through the school office or directly to the Admissions Team at Sessions House.
Grammar School Assessment

• Parents will receive decision letters by 15th October 2015.
• Provided that you have registered on-line and provided a valid email address you will be notified of your child’s assessment by automatic email after 4pm on 14th October 2015.
How PESE Works
• Pupils will be assessed for: English and maths, plus a reasoning test.
• The English and maths test is in a multiple choice format (60mins, plus admin time, two separate sections each with introductory practice items).
• The Reasoning Test is in a multiple choice format (60 mins plus admin time). One verbal reasoning section and five non-verbal, which are separately timed with practice items.
• Writing exercise under test conditions will take 40 minutes. This will not be marked and is not something that will affect a pupils standardised score.
How PESE works
• A familiarisation paper is available on the Kent website: www.kent.gov.uk and the papers themselves will have introductory drills and practice questions, but there are no practice tests.
Headteacher Assessment Requests
• Headteachers have guidance as to whether they can appeal. It is only use in exceptional cases whereby evidence is submitted by the school.
• Headteachers will submit appeals by Friday 25th September 2015.
