We are salt and light on the earth: You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Ministry Changes and Prayer Request By Sarah Winandy

As we go forward in ministry and look to our wonderful Heavenly Father for direction and help, we re-joice and give Him praise as we see answers to prayer and lives being touched in life-changing and eternal ways. Lives, each made in His likeness and in His im-age, are precious at any age, from the moment of concep-tion to the aged who are soon to meet their Maker. We love life! Gianna Jessen Banquet We were so honored to have Gianna Jessen come to speak for us September 28. She gave a message that kept everyone on the edge of their seats, no one was bored! What a powerful speaker! After addressing many of the political issues of the day and pointing out how spineless some of the Republican leaders are when it comes to the abortion issue, she went into her amazing story of surviving a saline abortion. A very important point she made is how she forgave her birthmother. She had appeared in a greeting line one day after Gianna spoke, and said, “I’m your mother.” Gianna told her she forgave her, but her birthmother yelled, “I don’t want your forgiveness, you’re an embarrassment to me and the fami-ly.” With this, Gianna knew she belonged to the Lord Je-sus and was able to forgive anyway. She gave glory to God in everything. Gianna spoke about waiting on God for a husband and encouraged young women to realize how precious (Please Continue to read Page 4) (Gianna, continued from page 2)

gave a very special challenge to men to defend life.

“I Have A Dream…” By Nicole Schaer

Famous words of Dr. Martin Luther King. Do you have dreams? God-sized dreams? These are words that I have also heard spoken by Sarah Winandy. Sarah’s dream is to have a home where women who choose life are able to come and find shelter, love, mentoring relationships, job training, and support. For Sarah’s dream to become a reality, Pro-Life Min-istries will have to have been given a home. That’s a God-sized dream! These past months, God has been challenging me to (“I have a Dream”

A Gift of Your Time at Christmas Time! Would You Invest Your Time to Help?

A Christmas Care and Share! Friday, December 21, 2018 Starting at 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church (in the Gym) 300 East 2nd Street Duluth, MN 55805

A Quiet Landing – Remembering the Aborted By Pastor Tom Schaer

The colors and coolness of fall were well settled in on the little town of Proctor, MN. As we came to a stop, parked and enter the “gates” of The Landing Church, the muted colors and sounds outdoors hummed along with sober faith-full souls of those gathering to morn the loss of 406 babies aborted in Duluth MN during 2017. Pastor Brent Nelson welcomed us with the hopeful re-solve to consider these unborn lives as martyrs for Jesus sake joining those under the altar waiting just a little while longer for and calling the righteous judge to come and avenge the bloodshed on the earth. Through the Scripture, songs, and testimonies we drew near to the heart of God and His awesome ways and his lofty thoughts on the value human life, considered the costly mistake of rejecting His counsel and remaining ignorant of His terms of peace, and remembered the great works of God in in-tricately weaving our lives together in our mother’s womb. Luke’s gospel comforted us by speaking of Jesus’ grief over the coming destruction of Jerusalem and the people within the protective barriers of the city walls. Then he makes it clear that the children within would also be torn down to the ground. Luke 19: 41 And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42 saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hid-den from your eyes. 43 For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side 44 and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.” As we remembered the sons and daughters that were aborted this past year, we acknowledge the realities of these children who were never given the chance to be born and who never landed in the protective arms of a mother and a father. Lord hear our cries for the children being cast down to the ground. Deliver them today from those who would seek to end their lives and let those who would participate in or support abortion be turned back in shame.

they are and to wait on God for the right man and not to com-promise. One of our friends (a mom who had changed her mind from an abortion) who came to the banquet told me later that message changed her life forever. She will not settle for anything but a good, godly man to marry or she won’t marry! Gianna encouraged the men to be protectors of wom-en, children and unborn babies. She talked of the freedom a strong man brings to the family when he takes a proper, loving position of leadership. She challenged the men to jump up and shout “Freedom” at her signal. It sounded like a war cry to me and it was really wonderful! Before Gianna spoke, Pastor Rolf Fure introduced Pastor Tom Schaer as our new Director. Pastors in the congre-gation were invited to come up and pray over Tom and Nicole for a blessing and an anointing on them from the Lord. About 9 pastors came to pray. (Pictured below)

Our banquet was filled with songs! Pastor Tom led in hymns and songs. (Pictured below)

Gianna gave us an interesting observation: she has been speaking for over 25 years and it is very rare to come speak at a banquet like ours which was filled with songs of praise to God and Scripture! Thank you many times over for all those who helped and volunteered and those who contributed to the silent auction. The banquet could not have been successful without your help! Thank you to Pastor Rolf Fure who was our MC. You did an amazing job; we are very grateful to you! Thank you to Lisa Sorensen and her two friends who did the decorating for the banquet and made it look beautiful! (

The banquet was a great success! There were ap-proximately 270 people who attended and we were all blessed with Gianna’s message! Thank you for praying and those who had a part in helping!

recognize how often I operate from a mindset of scarcity. This mindset has its roots in a childhood where there was often a lack of resources and a family bankruptcy. I don’t want to be reckless with money, but I’m realizing how often this scarcity mindset limits my dreams. I want my dreams to be God-sized because He’s the One that brings them to reality and He will get the glory. We’re dreaming about new directions Pro-Life Ministries of Duluth can take. Dreams such as Tom speaking in and partnering with many local churches and involving more of the body of Christ in an active stand for life. Dreams of getting into the schools and speaking to students about the sanctity of human life and offering counseling for those who’ve chosen abortion. As a fami-ly, we’re dreaming about being a foster care family and providing support for moms choosing life for their babies. This dream seems to require a large home, something that is beyond our current finances, making this a God-sized dream. So what are you dreaming about? Is it a God-sized dream? Let’s dream and pray together and watch for God to reveal Himself and His plans. “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imag-ine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
