3. Curriculum Information

3.1 Reception – Year 10: We follow the Australian Curriculumwith all our classes to make sure that we maintain a high standard ofteaching. In addition to the core curriculum, we are also focused onpreparing our students for NAPLAN for school years 3, 5, 7 and 9, aswell as other assessments like ICAS during the first one and a halfterms of a given year.

3.2 School Years 11, 12: We follow the SACE Stage 1 and 2curriculums for year 11 and 12 small group sessions respectively. Weprovide regular weekly homework and hold timely revision sessions,which helps our students to reinforce what they have learnt in the class.This helps them to establish, improve their knowledge and theunderstanding of the subject and perform exceptionally well in exams.

3.3 International Baccalaureate (IB): We provide individualtuition for the IB curriculum from Reception – Year 12 to guide studentswith a comprehensive understanding of the format and expectations ofthe IB, developing exam confidence and high-performance examstrategies.

A highly passionate teaching panel offering wealth of knowledge andexperience in broad range of fields.

Our tutors’ backgrounds derived from a variety of specialities suchas research scientists, senior lecturers and research fellows,engineers, mathematicians, and qualified school teachers.

100% of our core panel of tutors are degree qualified and more than57% holds PhDs and/or Masters degrees in their respective fields.

All our tutors are highly qualified and experienced in the subjectsthey tutor and are focused on students’ achievements.

Our English tutors are registered school teachers with several yearsof teaching and relevant qualifications.

In some exceptional situations, we also have tutors who hadachieved 99.95 ATAR in SACE/IB with several subject merits.

6. FREE Math & Physics Homework Help Sessions

We offer FREE Math, English and Physics Homework HelpSessions to all enrolled students as a value added service. Thesesessions are held on Fridays 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm weekly at theCampbelltown Centre during the term, and periodically Saturdays10.00 am – 12.00 pm at the Mitcham Centre. Please check withus on the available dates at Mitcham Centre. No prior bookingsare required.

7. FREE Initial Assessments Reception – Year 10

We provide FREE Math & English InitialAssessments for Reception – Year 10students who wish to enrol into our regulartuition classes. It is compulsory forstudents to sit for the assessment prior toenrolment. Please register for the test atthis link: Initial Assessment RegistrationForm or visit our website to register.Assessments are held only at ourCampbelltown Centre. 7

A sharp 253% increase in student enrolments from 2017 to2018 due to our reputable track record in studentachievement and followed through to year 2018/19.

In 2018, it was the highest achievement year with 84% ofstudents succeeded in securing various scholarship offers orentry into renown public or private schools.

12. Your commitment

Tutors SA would like to emphasise the importance ofregular class attendance. While most students areconsistent with their attendance, in the past we haveexperienced some irregular class attendance with some ofthe students throughout the year. Irregular classattendance directly impacts on students’ performance, andthe ability to grasp concepts taught in subsequent lessons.

At Tutors SA, in most situations there are multiple groupsper year level for a given subject at different times of theweek. This facilitates up to a maximum of 2 replacementclasses/sessions per term should the student beunavailable to attend their regular session.

However, we appreciate if parents can monitor theirchild’s attendance more closely and actively work onsending them to all the scheduled classes. We believetutors, students, as well as parents should work togetherto ensure the best outcome is achieved for the students.
